Reckless Driving
Driving Responsibly: Keeping River Bend Safe for Everyone
Driving responsibly should be second nature.
At River Bend, safety is a top priority, and we expect the same commitment from everyone behind the wheel. Reckless driving has no place in our Park. To help protect our community, escalating penalties are in place for those who choose to ignore established rules. Together, we can make our roads safer—because safety truly comes first.
Aggressive driving includes unsafe and potentially dangerous behaviors such as speeding, tailgating, weaving through traffic, or making unsafe lane changes. These actions are often driven by impatience or frustration and can intimidate or endanger others. Regardless of intent, they put lives at risk and will not be tolerated.
Prioritizing Safety: Reckless Driving and Escalating Penalties
At River Bend, safety is non-negotiable. Protecting drivers, passengers, pedestrians, and cyclists is essential to maintaining a secure and welcoming environment. To reduce accidents and prevent dangerous behavior, our security team enforces a zero-tolerance policy for reckless and aggressive driving.
What Is Reckless Driving?
Reckless driving is defined as operating a vehicle with willful or wanton disregard for the safety of people or property. In simple terms, it means driving without concern for the harm it may cause to yourself or others.
Common examples include:
Speeding
Tailgating
Weaving in and out of traffic
Ignoring traffic signs
Driving aggressively or angrily
These behaviors are dangerous and unacceptable within our community.
Penalties for Reckless Driving
Our policy is clear: safety comes first. To reinforce this commitment, escalating fines have been established for reckless driving violations:
First offense: $300
Second offense: $600
Third offense: $900
Fourth offense: $1,200
These penalties are designed to discourage unsafe behavior and emphasize the seriousness of reckless driving. While driving can sometimes be stressful, nothing is more important than the well-being of our residents and guests.
Why These Measures Matter
The primary goal of these penalties is to promote responsible driving and reduce preventable accidents. Reckless driving is not just a traffic violation—it is a community safety concern. Speeding through intersections, running stop signs, or engaging in road rage places everyone at risk.
Our security team works diligently to address unsafe behaviors before they result in serious incidents. These efforts help ensure that River Bend remains a place where everyone can feel safe and secure.
Building a Culture of Responsibility
Our commitment to safety goes beyond enforcement. It is about fostering a culture where courtesy, patience, and responsible driving are the norm—not the exception.
By choosing to drive carefully and respectfully, each member plays a vital role in protecting our community. Let’s work together to keep our roads safe and make River Bend a place where everyone can travel with confidence and peace of mind.
