We are proud to share that CVUSD has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education (BCME) Award from The NAMM Foundation! This award is a testament to CVUSD's outstanding support and commitment to music education. Now in its 27th year, the program continues to spotlight and celebrate school districts and individual schools across the United States for their exemplary dedication to music education and their ongoing efforts to ensure equitable access to music learning as part of a well-rounded education.
The CVUSD is one of 1,008 school districts in the nation to earn the 2026 Best Communities for Music Education Districts distinction for outstanding achievement in providing access to high-quality music education. Recipients of the 2026 BCME Awards were selected through a comprehensive application and review process that evaluates key indicators, including funding, instructional time, participation rates, facilities and community support.

Family participation and engagement is a key priority of the CVUSD. Our seven Advisory Councils and Committees meet regularly for vibrant discussions, informative presentations, relationship-building activities and more. These meetings are open to all members of our CVUSD community to attend. However, we understand that attending meetings in-person is not always possible.

Ms. Taylor will now be entered as the CVUSD’s nominee for the Ventura County Teacher of the Year honor.
Ms. Taylor will be publicly recognized as the CVUSD’s 2026 Teacher of the Year at an upcoming Board of Education meeting. She will also be publicly celebrated at the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Journeys of Excellence Gala as a 2026 Honoree.
The Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce has partnered monthly each year with the CVUSD since 1991 to honor one teacher who engages and supports all students in learning by demonstrating high professional standards, builds connections with families and the community, and opens doors by recognizing the diverse needs of all learners. This school year eight CVUSD teachers from across our district were recognized with the Teacher of the Month honor, which entered them as a nominee for the 2025-2026 Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce and CVUSD Teacher of the Year. Ms. Taylor was previously recognized as CVUSD’s December 2025 Teacher of the Month. Click here to learn more.
