Principal's Message
Good evening, Borchardt Families,
We hope all our Borchardt Bears are enjoying their extra day off this weekend!
We are still looking for a few more nominations for our School Site Council. This is an essential part of our school and we cannot function without these educational partners. Please consider completing the School Site Council Parent Nomination Form. Parent voices are an essential part of the decisions we make for our school, and we hope you will consider joining us—or nominating another parent who would be a great representative for our families.
Have a great week, everyone!

September Calendar
Families, our September calendar is here. Please be mindful that there are several minimum days during the month of September.
🥞 Save the Date: Family Pancake Breakfast!
Borchardt Nutrition Services invites all families to join us for a delicious pancake breakfast on Tuesday, September 22, from 7:30–8:15 a.m. All students eat FREE, and adult breakfast plates will be available for $5 each.
Mark your calendars—more information is coming soon!
💻 Aeries Online Data Confirmation- less than 40 families left to go!
🚨 Data Confirmation Required for Field Trips
All families must complete Online Data Confirmation in Aeries. This ensures that we have current emergency contacts and other critical information for your child.
Students without a completed Data Confirmation will not be permitted to attend class field trips this school year.
Please log in to the Aeries Parent Portal and select “Finish and Submit.” If you need help, please contact our school office.
September is Attendance Awareness Month 🎉🐻
Last Friday the class with the best attendance in each grade level for the month of August earned themselves a super recess! Congratulations to the following: Ms. Frazier, Ms. Mejia, Mrs. Becerra, Ms. Coble, Mr. Warmbier, Mrs. Nabors and Mr. Hahn's classes!
We look forward to seeing which classes will win next month!
Our first attendance month pop-up occurred last Friday! All classes with 100% attendance for the day earned a treat! Congratulations to Ms. Coble, Mrs. Briggs and Mrs. Becerra's classes!
You don't know when the next pop-up will occur, so make sure you're at school every day, and on time. Our Attendance Team will be celebrating students all month long with special surprises and fun activities…but you can only join the fun if you’re here!
Borchardt Spelling Bee 🐝
Borchardt will host our school 4th-6th grade Spelling Bee on Friday, September 18! We highly encourage all interested 4th-6th grade students to participate and put their spelling skills to the test.
The winner of our school Spelling Bee will represent Borchardt at the Lodi Elementary North Spelling Bee on October 22—which we are proud to host right here at Borchardt! We can’t wait to cheer on our school champion and show our guests what great Borchardt representation looks like.
Students can begin preparing now by clicking the link below to access the SJCOE Spelling Practice List. Good luck, Borchardt Bears! 🐝
School Site Council Parent Nominations
We are now accepting nominations for parent representatives on our Borchardt School Site Council! Parents may nominate themselves or another interested parent by completing the Google Form linked below by Friday, September 11.
School Site Council is a critical part of our school’s decision-making process. Members review student achievement data, help develop and monitor our school improvement plan, and provide input on how school funds are used to best support our students.
Parent voices and perspectives are essential to this work—we cannot do it without you! Please consider becoming involved or nominating someone who would be a strong representative for our Borchardt families.
🍎 Calling All Young Chefs! (grades 3-5)
Students in grades 3–5 are invited to attend a FREE two-hour Healthy Dinner cooking demonstration on Monday, October 12, at 4:30 p.m. Students and their adult chaperones will learn how to prepare a healthy meal created by the San Joaquin Delta College Culinary Arts Program while discovering more about locally grown foods.
Space is limited, so reserve your spot soon by emailing staff@sjfb.org or calling 209-931-4931.
