December 18th Details

December 18th we are excited to have our students perform in our Winter Assembly! Here are things to know:

Before the Assembly

  • Just prior to the assembly, Jungman's TEAM is having a parent brunch at Pocho's, a local Pilsen business owned by a Jungman family! You can see the flyer below for more details!

The Assembly

  • Doors to the gym will open at 12:35 pm. The first 2 center rows are reserved for parents who purchase those via raffle. The entire middle section of the lower auditorium is for the parents and it is open seating.
  • Parents, you have to stay in your seats. Please do not move to the aisles or the gym floor for pictures or recordings. This presents an safety hazard.
  • The performance starts at 1:00 SHARP
  • The following classes will be performing: Jungman's Uniting Voices Choir Students, PK Full Day, Kindergarten, 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade, 4th Grade, 5th Grade, 6th Grade, Middle Grades Cluster

After the Assembly

  • We have it on good authority that Santa might stop by (wink, wink). This means that ALL EAGLES have gifts that will be passed out this day thanks to our friends at Antares Capital!
  • AFTER the assembly, you can take the Early Dismissal form that will be handed out and retrieve your child from their classroom. Once you have your child, you can get in line for their gift outside of the "Toy Shop" (Room 104)
  • There will be places for photo's and the TEAM will be selling their raffles near the Toy Shop.

Please note parents need to be present to get the presents.

If you will not be at the assembly, we will have the "Toy Shop" open after school on:

  • Wednesday until 3:15
  • Thursday from 7:45-8:15 and again from 2:00-2:45
  • Friday from 7:45-8:15 and again from 2:00-2:45

Attendance Updates! Our Goal is Every Student, Every Day! Attendance Updates! Our Goal is Every Student, Every Day!

ATTENDANCE MATTERS

Parents we need your help! This week our attendance was terrible.

There is no push to have your child come to school sick, but we have to push every single day that they are not sick to be in school, on-time, ready to learn.

Ms. Luzzi's has a perfect attendance challenge for the month of December:

3 classrooms, one from each grade band (K-2, 3-5, 6-8), will be awarded with an invite to the

Winter Games!

Winter Games is a festive and fun time for students to explore an art and craft, play holiday inspired games with friends or join a dance party.

End of the week leaderboard:

2nd Grade took out 1st Grade!

3rd Grade is staying strong 2 weeks in a row

Middle Grade Cluster took out 7th Grade!

Every class is catchable! You have to be here to help your class win!

This year, we are closely monitoring student attendance with the goal of reducing the rate of chronic absenteeism from its current 39%—which is 10% above the state average—down to 15%.

If your child is having issues with attending school regularly, please reach out to Ms. Sarah VanWolvelear at sevanwolvelear@cps.edu immediately to discuss supports and a plan!

IT TAKES A VILLAGE!

Parents we need your help and your voice to help make our school a better place! This year, we are working to increase our parent presence in our school! Please read below for a few of the ways you can help!

Local School Council: Next Meeting is December 9, 2024 at 2:45 PM

  • Comprised of parents, community, educational, and student members, LSCs serve as an important vehicle for participatory democracy, providing a wide variety of stakeholders an opportunity to make important decisions about how students in their communities will be educated.

Parent Advisory Committee (PAC): The next PAC meeting will take place on Friday, December 13 at 8:00am.

  • Each academic year, schools establish Parent Advisory Councils (PACs) to bring together parents/legal guardians, teachers/staff, and community stakeholders to work with their school principal in the planning, design, implementation, and evaluation of the Title I Program. PACs empower parents to inspire and assist their children in achieving educational goals and graduating from elementary and high school.

Bilingual Advisory Committee (BAC): The next PAC meeting will take place on Friday, December 13 at 8:00am.

  • Bilingual Advisory Committees (BACs) empower parents of English Learners (ELs) to participate in their student's education and advocate for the academic, social, and cultural development of all ELs.

The Eagle Alliance Movement (TEAM): Next Meeting is December 11 at 8:15 am

Upcoming Events/Fundraisers:
