The first week is over, and what a great week it was. We opened the doors on Thursday with almost 400 students!!

A quick update from Norwich Middle School. Please check out everything that is going on at NMS:

New Staff at NMS

It is our honor to welcome 13 new staff to the Norwich Middle School Family this year!! Please make them feel at home in our school, and help them get off to a GREAT start here in Norwich!

Attendance and Timeliness

School starts at 8:25 and runs until dismissal at 3:07 every day!! It is essential that our students are at school EVERY day. Unlike the past few years, if your child is feeling a little under the weather, but not really sick, send them to school. If needed, our nurse will screen them and send them home if necessary.

As we pull through to the other side of the pandemic, we have to get back on track!! Being in school and on time for school are really important. Help us help your child be the BEST they can be!!

Remember, being in school is IMPORTANT!! You have to be here to assure quality learning, preparation for the next grade level, and to build skills for what comes after High School!!

Help Your Teen Create Structure

The start of this school year will be a transition time for all students. To support your teens as they navigate changes, help them establish routines and habits they can rely on. Work with them to schedule the time she needs to fulfill responsibilities. Have them choose a regular study time when she is most alert. Encourage them to keep track of their grades and to ask her teachers for help right away if they are struggling or falling behind.

And establish screen-free times for conversation and creative thinking!!!

Don't forget that you have access to your child's grades through the SchoolTool. If you have not received the access information, please let us know, and if you have any questions about your child's performance in a class, contact your child's teacher early to avoid any surprises come report card time.
