Dear Hardy Families,
Our 2025-2026 budget has been released, and while the monetary impact is relatively small (about $10,000 less, likely due to lower enrollment rather than funding cuts), we are experiencing a reduction in allocations. As a result, counseling support will decrease from 4 days to 3 days per week next year, among other personnel reductions.
Here’s where you can help! We are just 14 students away from qualifying for additional prep time for teachers and another day of counseling support. Please help spread the word—Hardy is the place to be! Every new enrollment helps us maintain and expand the resources available to our students.
Exciting News – Thanks to the fundraising efforts of our Hardy Dads Club—who raised money by selling parking spaces for SDSU concerts and games—we were able to purchase iReady this year! This $10,000 investment will provide K-5 students with diagnostic and adaptive software to support their learning. I’m thrilled that we could make this happen!
Additionally, we have purchased Heggerty (a phonics and phonemic awareness curriculum) for grades K-2, and we are also hoping to purchase UFLI (University of Florida Literacy Institute) phonics curriculum, at approximately $70 per teacher, as well. These resources will enhance early literacy instruction and strengthen foundational reading skills for our youngest learners.
Reminders:
Have a wonderful week!
With Gratitude,
Mrs. Aragon

NEW FALL PRIMETIME 25-26 APPLICATION PROCESS!
We are pleased to share that Hardy will continue offering free before- and after-school care through the PrimeTime program. This program provides care starting at 6:15 AM before school and until 6:00 PM after school at no cost to families.
Priority Enrollment Criteria
Under the California Department of Education's Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) grant, students in grades TK-6 who meet at least one of the following criteria will receive priority consideration for enrollment:
- Homeless or foster youth (highest priority)
- Low-income families (eligible for free/reduced meals under LCFF)
- English Learners
If your student does not meet any of the above criteria, enrollment will be first come, first served based on submission date and time, depending on available program space.
Application Information
All families must reapply each year, so if your child is currently enrolled in PrimeTime and you will need care again next year, you must submit a new application.
Application Window:

🗓 Closes Friday, May 2, 2025, at 9:59 PM
If you anticipate needing after-school care at any point during the 2025-26 school year, we strongly encourage you to apply during the initial application window.
Families who do not get into PrimeTime will have the opportunity to enroll in Klassic Kids, our paid after-school care provider.
For more details, please visit the PrimeTime website.
Weekly Attendance Snapshot: 95.23% (Goal: 95%)
For the first time in several months, we’ve reached our goal of 95% Average Daily Attendance (ADA)! Great job, Owls! Your commitment to showing up every day makes a difference.
Now, let’s keep the momentum going and aim for 97%! We can do this!!!
If your student is home sick, please remember to notify the front office by phone or complete the "Report an Absence" form.
