Eagle Update

It is hard to believe that we will be wrapping up October next week which means just a few more weeks of Trimester 1!

We look forward to welcoming parents in for conferences on Thursday and Friday. In addition to meeting with teachers, the Scholastic Book Fair will be open for browsing and shopping for families. The Book Fair will also continue to be open next week and students will have the opportunity to shop during their scheduled Library time through October 31.

We are excited to host our fall harvest parties this year! Students will be allowed to wear costumes at school; however, the times for that will vary depending on the class. Your child's teacher will share those details as the date gets closer. Please know that all costumes need to be appropriate (no violence, weapons, fake blood, face masks, or full face paint) and, ideally, something that your child can take on and off fairly or completely independently. Each class will be running their own celebration and those may look different from class to class.

For all our parents wanting to unload some of the Halloween goodies, our Candy Buy Back Week will begin on November 3rd and run through the 7th.

Nutrition Services partners with Our Table Cooperative and Hood River Organics to bring organic, fresh, locally-sourced food to our schools! This year, students have enjoyed organic cantaloupe, honeydew, Italian plums, apples, pears, cherry tomatoes and cucumbers -- all grown right here in Oregon!

Happy Farm to School Month!

Candy Buy Back is back in a big way and Archer Glen is eager to defend or exceed its 2024 2nd
place position! We seriously need your help to make this happen! All candy is due back to the
office by 11/7.

In addition to your home’s leftover candy, we encourage families to reach out to neighbors and
family to donate any extra candy they have. Last year we won 2nd place with 161lbs of candy
which amounted to $461!

The District will be welcoming volunteers back into our school buildings this year. All volunteers will need to complete and have an approved background check on file prior to volunteering (this must be renewed each school year). The background check process can take 7-10 business days, so please allow sufficient processing time if you are planning to volunteer for a specific event.

Our Archer Glen Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) is creating an updated email list for school information and other ways to support our school. If you are looking to volunteer at Archer Glen this year, please sign up using the link shared here. If you are new to Archer Glen you will need to create a new login. Past volunteers can use their old sign in. (Please note that this link does not work well on your phone so you will need to use another device).

ALL parents will need to fill out their information again as the system gets updated each fall. The registration will ask some questions about volunteer preferences, please still answer the questions and select all activities you might be interested in learning more about!
