Dear Talbot Families,
We had a great week at Talbot! Talbot students and staff have continued to settle into routines, build classroom communities, and get to know one another. It has been nice to see students making connections not only within their classrooms, but also building a strong sense of community throughout our entire school.
We officially began our town wide district assessments this week. Our students have been working hard and showing their best effort as they become familiar with the assessment routines and expectations. Teachers will use the data to help drive instruction. RISE participated in their first Music and Movement class. We even managed to squeeze in a practice fire drill! Our students did a great job practicing how to safely and calmly exit the building.
Talbot's Open House is this Tuesday, September 15th, at 6:00PM! Open House is an opportunity for our students to show off their school, their classrooms, and the Talbot community to the people they love. We hope families will take the time to walk through the building with their children, see some of the spaces where they learn each day, and get a glimpse into the beginning of their school year. Just a friendly reminder that Open House is not a time for individual parent/teacher conferences. Parent Teacher conferences are later in the Fall, however you are always welcome to reach out to teachers at any time.
We are also excited to invite families to the first Talbot Parent Council meeting of the school year on Thursday, September 17th, at 7:00 PM. Parent Council is an important part of our Talbot community, and we encourage families to join us, share ideas, ask questions, and learn more about ways to become involved in our school.
