The Ferrazzani Friday Update
February 28th, 2025

π Happy Valentine's Day π
77 Days Left!
Happy FriYAY Wolves! We had such a fun week heading into break! Our students celebrated the 100th day, Valentine's Day, our 3rd and 4th graders had a blast at the dance last night, and all students showed off everything they know in fun and engaging ways. We are going to miss them all over break but we hope you all have a great week and get some time to relax and spend time with loved ones!
π― 100th Day of School π―
100 Days Smarter
This week our students celebrated being 100 days smarter! There were a few times where we walked into classes and thought the Senior Center came to visit us with all of the 100 year olds we saw! Classes had a blast sharing 100 objects, doing 100 themed activities, and even getting some exercise in 100 seconds! Can't wait to see how much our brains grow the rest of the year!
πͺ© Sweetheart Dance πͺ©
Did Someone Say Cupid Shuffle?
Our students inn grades 3-5 had SO much fun at the Sweetheart Dance! A huge thank you to Ms Gallella in 4C for organizing and putting on such an amazing experience for our students!
π No School - February Break π
See you February 23rd!
Just a reminder that there is no school next week (February 16 - 20) for February break! Enjoy the week off!
π MCAS Bootcamp π
Grades 3 & 4
Just a reminder for any of the 3rd and 4th graders that signed up for MCAS bootcamp to please come to the school Tuesday 2/19 - Thursday 2/19 from 9-12. There will not be any transportation so please make sure students are picked up and dropped off on time.
π ACCESS Testing π
January 5 - February 20
Itβs time for ACCESS testing! All multilingual learners will take this annual language assessment during school hours. The test looks at growth in Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking, and itβs an important way for us to see how students are developing their English skills. All testing will be done by our English Language Education (ELE) teachers, and score reports will be shared with families in late May/early June.

π« Student Handbook π«
A Review of Policies and Procedures
Please take some time to review the student handbook for grades K-4. We will ask you to sign off on this when logging into PowerSchool to access your student's grades.
π Dismissal Reminders π
A Few Reminders to Help Keep Everyone Safe
Our goal is to always make sure dismissal runs smoothly and safely.
- ALL Parent Pickup cars should be in the pickup lane (Right-hand drive, closest to the school)
- There should be no cars in the bus lane or parked in parking spots to pick up students
- All cars must pull up to the sidewalk to get students. Students will not be allowed to cross into traffic.
- All parents should remain in their cars to keep the flow of traffic moving
- Students will enter cars through the rear passenger side door.
If you need to change how your student is going home for a day, it needs to go through the front office by 2:00!
Students will also not be able to be dismissed after 3:00. If you need to pull your kiddo out early for an appointment please make sure it is before 3:00 and that the front office is notified earlier in the day.
π Standards Based Grading π
Please see a breakdown of Standards Scoring Below
A new standards-based report card format has been introduced in grades K-4 in the 2025-2026 school year. While parents and students in grades K-4 will continue to view report cards through Power School, the format will look different. Students in grades 3-4 will continue to receive a letter grade for each subject, but will also be assessed using state standards for each subject area, including specials. Kindergarteners will continue to be assessed using only standards. Grades K-2 will be standards only, no letter grades. Teachers will assess students using the state standards to insure clarity and consistency in expectations across classroom and grade levels. The standards-based design will allow more detailed feedback aligned with specific learning goals for each of the subjects, thereby aiding parents, students, teachers and administrators to focus on growth and areas needing additional support.
