Wolman Elementary Newsletter

News from Ms. Ricks, Principal
Dear Wolman Families,
What an amazing start to the school year! It has been wonderful welcoming our Explorers back to campus and seeing them already engaged in learning, reconnecting with friends, and settling into their classroom routines. Our teachers and staff have done an incredible job teaching procedures, establishing expectations, and, most importantly, building relationships with our students. We are so grateful for the care, energy, and enthusiasm they bring to Wolman each day. Be sure to check out the pictures below of our wonderful Wolman staff members!
Overall, we experienced a smooth arrival and dismissal during the first days of school, and we appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation as we establish our beginning-of-year routines. Please take a few moments to review the Arrival and Dismissal “Travel Guide” below for important information and reminders. Bus Rider Reminder: If your child rides the bus, please make note that we use bus ROUTE numbers—not bus numbers when identifying buses at dismissal. Route numbers begin with a 2, 4, 6, or 8. For car riders, please ensure that you join the car line at dismissal no later than 3:40 p.m.; this will ensure that your number gets entered and your child will be waiting for you when you reach the front of the school. Late arrivals to the afternoon car line will need to park and enter the school with government issued identification and the family car tag for pick up. Visitors are not allowed to park in the staff lot and walk up to drop off or pick up students. The staff lot is reserved for bus and daycare traffic only. Also, all car rider vehicles need to make right turns in and out of the front drive at arrival and dismissal. Please refer to the graphic below for an example and additional clarification.
As we continue our journey together, please review the following sections of this newsletter for additional campus, district, and PTA news and information. Thank you for your continued support and for partnering with us toward our common goal—student learning and success! We are excited for all of the learning, growth, and adventures ahead for our Explorers this year!

Procedures Regarding Lunch Visitors
SIGN UP COMING SOON!!!
Lunch is a fun, social time of day for our Explorers! After the first couple of weeks of school, once students have had a chance to practice routines/procedures and get to know one another, we will begin welcoming lunch visitors. As a reminder only parents/guardians, non-school aged children and immediate family listed on the lunch visitor permission form are able to visit for lunch. Due to limited space, visitors are limited to 2 visitors per student (non school age children are counted as visitors). Each parent must sign up for their own seat and a separate seat for any non school age siblings.
Lunch Visits will begin on Tuesday, September 2. Here are some reminders for when lunch visits begin...PLEASE REMEMBER when signing up to include your child's name and teacher in the comments. All visitors must show a physical, hard copy government issued ID (driver's license or passport) when you arrive for lunch. We ask that each student be limited to having a lunch visit one day per week to allow all Explorers the opportunity to have a lunch visit. If you are not able to come to lunch after you signed up, please remove your name from the list. Also, please be aware that a few minutes prior to your child's lunch time ending, the monitors will direct your child to join his/her class; this helps with making our cafeteria exit procedures run more smoothly. The following steps will guide you in signing up for lunch times to visit your child and with providing lunch visitor permission. Please call 281 234 1700 with any questions. Thank you!
Step 1:
Please sign up for date/time of lunch visit here: Link
If needed...
Step 2:
For immediate family visitors (limited to grandparents, non-school aged siblings, and stepparents) who are NOT the parents/guardians the online Lunch Visitor form must be filled out by the parent/guardian BEFORE the lunch visit. Link
