As many of you know, registration opened late this year due to the state's computer system changing. Registration is now up and going, and we've had a GREAT response so far! If you need assistance with registration, please call our office at (256) 768-2500.

Also, if your child will be withdrawing and attending a different school, you will need to come into our office as soon as possible and fill out a withdrawal form.

For Alabama's students, the months away from school can result in a large loss of knowledge in reading, math, science and other core subject matter. The Alabama Summer Learning Challenge raises awareness of the summer loss epidemic, shares research on the importance of personalized activities and provides access to a variety of free resources to targeted summer learning. You may have heard of the "summer slide" before. Summer can be a time of great fun, relaxation, and adventure for students, but it can also be a time that students regress academically if their brains do not engage in stimulating activities. To help prevent the summer slide, I have listed some free and wonderful learning opportunities below.

As always, please remember that the best activity you can do with or for your child is read together daily for at least 20 minutes!

Students will have access to all FCS Student Online Resources throughout the summer. They can either use their QR code or login credentials to access the resources. If your child does not remember his/her username/password, please contact our office.

I recommend accessing Clubhouse, iReady, iXL, Flocabulary, and Reflex Math. There are several other GREAT resources!
