2026-2027 KJ DANCE SAVE THE DATES

Welcome, COMBO Dancers!

Welcome to another exciting dance season at KJ Dance! We are so excited to watch your dancer learn, grow, and shine in our Combo Program this year. Whether this is your dancer's very first class or they're returning for another season, we can't wait to be part of their dance journey.

Please review the class descriptions and attire requirements below, and as always, let us know if you have any questions!

Combo I–III

Our foundational Combo classes introduce dancers to Ballet and Tap while building strength, coordination, musicality, body awareness, and confidence in a fun, encouraging environment. Each class includes instruction in both styles, giving dancers a strong technical foundation while fostering a love for dance.

Required Attire:

  • Black leotard (black skirts or tutus acceptable)
  • Pink tights
  • Pink leather full-sole ballet shoes (ages 6 & under) or pink split-sole canvas ballet shoes (ages 7+)
  • Black Mary Jane tap shoes (ages 6 & under) or black Oxford tap shoes (ages 7+)
  • Hair in a neat ballet bun with all hair secured away from the face

Combo IV–V

Our advanced Combo classes continue building on Ballet, and jazz technique while introducing lyrical technique. Dancers will further develop their technical skills, flexibility, musicality, performance quality, and confidence in a positive, structured classroom environment.

Required Attire:

  • Black leotard

  • Pink split-sole canvas ballet shoes
  • Tan jazz shoes

We are so excited for an incredible season and can't wait to watch your dancer grow throughout the year. Welcome to another wonderful season at KJ Dance!

Will my dancer have a performance at the end of the year?

YES! All Combo dancers will be part of the KJ End-of-Year Concert, and we can't wait to see them shine on stage!

  • Combo I, II, and III dancers will perform one routine, either Ballet or Tap.
  • Combo IV–V dancers will perform three routines—one Ballet, one Jazz, and one Tap.

Our annual concert is a wonderful opportunity for dancers to showcase everything they have learned throughout the season while building confidence and creating lasting memories. We can't wait to celebrate their hard work with you!

What if my dancer wants to take another class each week?

Many of our Combo dancers choose to add a Jazz or Hip Hop class to their weekly schedule. Both styles are a wonderful complement to their Combo class and provide additional opportunities to build confidence, technique, coordination, and performance skills.

Our KJ faculty carefully designs the class schedule so dancers can often attend classes back-to-back, making it convenient for families. If you're interested in adding another class, take a look at the schedule immediately before or after your dancer's current Combo class—there is often a great option available!

If you need help finding the perfect fit, our office staff is always happy to assist with scheduling.

Concert Bonus: If your dancer is enrolled in both a Combo class and an additional Jazz or Hip Hop class, they will perform an additional routine in our End-of-Year Concert, giving them even more opportunities to shine on stage!

What if my dancer has trouble walking into class the first few weeks of class?

At KJ Dance, we understand that our youngest dancers sometimes need a little time to adjust to a new environment. It is completely normal for children to take a few weeks to feel safe, build trust with their teacher, and gain the confidence to fully participate in class.

Our faculty has years of experience working with young dancers and is committed to making every child feel welcomed, encouraged, and loved. We will meet your dancer where they are, celebrate every small victory, and gently help them grow each week.

If your dancer is a little hesitant during those first few classes, we simply ask that you give them time. In our 34 years of teaching, we have seen countless shy, nervous little dancers blossom into confident performers. Watching that transformation is one of the greatest joys of what we do!

Thank you for trusting us with your most precious little ones. It is truly an honor to be part of their dance journey, and we are so grateful you have chosen to be part of the #THEKJWAY family.

Can my dancer bring a friend to try the class?

Absolutely! Dance is always more fun with friends, and we'd love for your dancer to invite a buddy to join them!

Friends can always try a class for FREE! They will simply create an account at kjdance.com, add their dancer, and select the Drop-In class they'd like to attend. Our faculty will be notified of the trial and will be ready to welcome them.

If your friend loves class, they can easily enroll online or contact our office for assistance. We can't wait to welcome them to the #THEKJWAY family!

What if my dancer misses a class?

No worries! We would love for your dancer to make up any missed class in another Combo class.

To schedule a makeup class, simply log in to your Studio Director account, select "Makeup Class," and choose another Combo class that works best for your family's schedule. We look forward to seeing your dancer back in the studio soon!

We are thrilled to serve the DFW area and to have the privilege of training young dancers with integrity. The mission of KJ is to focus on each individual by teaching grace, poise and selflessness. KJ provides a safe nurturing environment where dance is the vessel by which a child can gain self esteem and valuable skills including teamwork and leadership. Our program teaches honesty, integrity, loyalty and dedication through the art of dance. The KJ faculty is committed to keeping standards high and constantly reinventing creative and exciting teaching techniques. Here, students excel in their development as young adults.
