Principal's Message
Hello Shark Families,
Hello Shark Families,
This is the month where we hold our parent/teacher conferences. Please be prepared to meet your child's teacher the week of Nov. 17-20. Your child's teacher will be reaching out to you to set up a time during our minimum days on Tuesday through Friday of that week. The conference is the perfect opportunity for you to check on how your child is progressing towards standards and check up on their social-emotional wellbeing. Our teachers are looking forward to the opportunity to partner with you!
Last month, district-wide, we had safety week from Oct. 12-16th. The goal of this week was to give students a sense of security and safety in our school and what to do in case this is needed. I want to thank our Safety Team for monitoring all protocols that week and for working through a disaster scenario where there were teachers and students to rescue. We learned that our staff and team can manage a disaster without hesitation. Remember, your child’s safety is our top priority. We want students to feel prepared, not scared for any type of drill. Lockdown drills, especially, may be difficult to talk about with our young learners but so very important to do, and with practice and knowledge we become informed. When and if we ever need to reunify you and your child/children, please see the attached document and map in the Safety Awareness Around Campus for the procedures for a safe and effective reunification. It is very important for parents to know how to pick up our young sharks.
Also, we want to give our PTO a shout out for preparing and managing a wonderful Fall Festival. There were so many friends and families present in our community, enjoying the festivities and food. We hope to have many more events like this one!
Happy Holidays to you and your family,
Renee Henderson

Hello Shark Families,
Happy November! As the holiday season approaches, we're excited for all the fun activities and learning experiences we have planned for our students!
While we fully support and cherish special time spent with family, we also want to gently remind everyone how important consistent school attendance is for your child's growth and learning. Per district policy, independent study contracts are no longer available. We know these were sometimes used in the past to help clear attendance, but that option is no longer offered.
We completely understand that illnesses and family emergencies come up. When your child does need to miss school, please just reach out and communicate with our attendance clerk to report and clear the absence.
In addition to attendance, I want to share a quick note about student support. I am on campus several days a week to support student discipline and help ensure our teachers can focus on what they do best: teaching. We strongly believe in keeping open lines of communication with our families. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me anytime. I look forward to partnering with you and your child to support their success every single day!
Thank you so much for your continued partnership!

🎼Music Notes🎶
Our music classes are having a blast with Drums Alive! Students combine drumming, movement, and music to create an energetic, full-body musical experience. Using exercise balls and drumsticks, students explore rhythm, steady beat, coordination, and musical expression while building listening skills, teamwork, and confidence. It’s a fun way to get moving, make music, and learn at the same time!
Sat., Dec. 5. The band will be playing in the Marysville Christmas Parade. They will be joined by the cheer squad and members of the student council. Put it on your calendar to watch the parade and cheer for our students as they march in downtown Marysville.
