Week 8 at The Hive
Hubbard Families,
What another great week at M.B. Hubbard! Our school has been full of learning, growing, celebrating, and making great memories. We continue to be so proud of the hard work our students are putting in each day, and we are grateful for the amazing staff who pour into our students every day. We also appreciate you, our Hubbard families, for partnering with us, supporting your children, and helping make our school community so special. There is so much happening at Hubbard, and we want to make sure you don't miss it!
Morning Arrival:
All families dropping off students before 8:00 a.m. must use the carline. Students should enter the building independently once they arrive.
Please remember that parents should not drop students off in the front of the school. The only exception is for families who have a Skip the Line Pass, which specifically allows them to use the front drop-off area. If you do not have a Skip the Line Pass, please use the regular carline. Thank you for following this procedure and helping us keep morning arrival safe, organized, and efficient for everyone.
One More Week Until the Grading Period Ends!
We have just one more week before the grading period ends. If you have questions or concerns about your child's grades, assignments, or academic progress, please reach out to your child's teacher and schedule a conference as soon as possible. Staying connected with your child's teacher is one of the best ways we can work together to support student success.
Please Read the Newsletter in Its Entirety!
Our weekly newsletter is more than just a calendar of events. We encourage every family to take the time to read it from beginning to end. We highlight our amazing students, staff, and student work, while also sharing important information from departments across our school.
You will also find polls and opportunities to provide your feedback and input. Your voice matters to us, and we want to hear from you!
Thank you for being an important part of the Hubbard family. Together, we are doing whatever it takes to make M.B. Hubbard a place where every student can learn, grow, and succeed.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Our attendance policy has been updated and is being strictly enforced, so accuracy matters. Please make sure you child is at school on time. Checking in late and checking out early adds up to lost instruction.

πArrival & Dismissal
Parent drop-off begins at 7:20 a.m. All parents must use the car line until 8:00 a.m. Dismissal begins at 3:00 p.m., and we ask that all students be picked up no later than 3:30 p.m.
πCarline and Pick Up Reminders
Safety is our highest priority at Hubbard! Please do not drop students off in the front bus area. Cars entering and leaving the front drive and parking lot while students are unloading creates a significant safety hazard.
Additionally, please do not leave students in the car line if there are no adults present to receive them.

πIn order to provide continuing support for North Carolinaβs youngest readers, The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction Office of Early Learning has developed and released βLiteracy at Home.β
Literacy at Home - Free Resources
This digital resource provides literacy activities at each grade level, pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. Families and communities may access this resource for activities that specifically target the literacy skills of phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and oral language. When children grow in each of these foundational areas they are well on their way to becoming proficient readers.
