Hunter Headlines
November 4th, 2020 Edition
A Message from Mrs. Mullins
Good Evening Hunter Families,
I’d like to take a few moments and address what I am certain we are ALL thinking about, often, the possibility of our school(s) going remote. The Hunter staff is continuously planning for the possibility and preparing. As numbers continue to increase across the state and within the county, and with the temporary remote status of our High School, I want to remind everyone that we have remote learning Wednesdays every week to practice for a situation where a building or buildings may have to go remote for a period of time. Please make sure that you are ready for this possibility and know login information. Creating a plan for temporary remote learning at home will help for an easier transition if this was to occur. As a reminder, remoting learning this year will look much different than last spring. All assignments, quizzes, and scores will count and students are required to attend live sessions and participate fully in remote learning. If remote learning was to occur, information will be provided by your child’s principal and teacher(s) on the format for each day of remote learning. The structure provided would take students through an entire school day.
There is no timeline for us to go full remote, and I do not send this letter with a hidden agenda. I simply want us to all be prepared, both mentally and physically, to do so if the time comes.
So far, there are no words to describe the teamwork that has happened since we opened our doors in September. The joint efforts between home and school are amazing. Our teaching staff continues to keep a positive outlook and find creative ways to enhance the experiences for our students. I don’t send this email to cause additional stress and anxiety, but rather to continue to be open and honest.
I’d also like to thank our Superintendent, Amy Conway, for fighting so hard to safely keep our students in school. She continually reevaluates our safety measures, our processes and the data. As she works to keep us face-to-face, she’s also informed, involved and prepared to move us to remote any moment.
We have made it this far! Let us celebrate that accomplishment and continue the work together. Never hesitate to reach out to me with questions or your child’s teacher.
My Best,
Jenna Mullins
