Parents are welcome to join in and help celebrate our students' achievements. At these assemblies, students will be recognized for making the A Honor Roll, the A-B Honor Roll, and having Perfect Attendance. We also will recognize students that have been nominated for Student of the Month, and draw names from our character trait focus wall. Below are highlights from October's Assembly

Kindergarten- Reaching for the Stars Award Kindergarten- Reaching for the Stars Award

Even though we do not give grades in Kindergarten, we know how important it is to celebrate hard work, effort, and a love of learning. Today, we want to honor some very special students who are always giving their best, showing perseverance, and reaching for the stars in their learning journey. These students remind us that success is not just about answers- it is about trying, growing, and never giving up. We are so proud of them!

August/September Attendance Traveling Trophy Winner August/September Attendance Traveling Trophy Winner

Attendance is a priority at Wiley Elementary. We have a school wide challenge going on between each classroom. Our challenge is to see which classroom can have the highest percentage of attendance for the month. The class that has the highest attendance rate for the month gets to display a traveling trophy in their classroom for the month. Congratulations to Mrs. Brown's 4th grade class for having the highest attendance rate for the month of August/September.

August/September Student of the Month August/September Student of the Month

Wiley Elementary Staff continues to recognize one student per grade level each month as our Student of the Month. Below are the students that were selected as Students of the Month. We are very proud of each of these students and are happy to recognize them. Each student's recognition is well deserved.

Kindergarten: Maximo Bennett

This month’s recipient has demonstrated remarkable growth—both academically and socially—during the first few weeks of school. Entering kindergarten is a tough experience for any child as there are so many new things to learn from routines to rules and academics. However, this student faced the challenge of beginning school for the very first time with such bravery and positivity. The first day was filled with tears and understandable anxiety about leaving home for the first time and all of the many challenges Kindergarten will have to offer. Yet, little by little, this child has shown resilience, courage, and a truly inspiring determination to succeed.

In just a short time, this student has built friendships, learned to follow classroom routines, and has become an active, engaged learner. He eagerly participates in lessons, catches on to new concepts quickly, and shows genuine curiosity about the world around him. He is always asking the magic question ‘why’ to find out the way the world works.

This young learner has proven that curiosity, hard work, and a positive attitude can lead to amazing things. We are so proud of all he has accomplished already and cannot wait to see where his love of learning will take him next.

His enthusiasm, perseverance, and love of learning will undoubtedly open countless doors in his future. It is with great pride and admiration that we recognize Maximo Bennett as our Student of the Month for August/September.

1st Grade: Adalyn Grasmick

Adalyn Grasmick is a standout student, not only for her dedication and hard work ethic, but also for the joy and laughter she brings to our classroom every day. She has a unique ability to make everyone around her smile with her infectious sense of humor. I look forward to her greeting me with her spunky be-bopping attitude and a, "Hey watch my new dance move I made up!" or a perfectly timed knock-knock joke to start out our morning. She always knows how to lighten the mood and brighten our day. As a friend, she is compassionate and reliable, always there for her classmates when they need help or just a good laugh. Her kindness and honesty shine through in all her interactions, and she's someone who makes everyone feel valued and included. Whether she is helping a classmate or cheering on others, her positive energy is contagious. Adalyn is the definition of a well-rounded student- smart, caring, and always ready to spread joy. She's an absolute pleasure to have in class, and it's easy to see why she's so deserving of being Student of the Month.

2nd Grade: Riata Mick

I am delighted to recognize a student who brightens our classroom every day with her infectious laugh and has a wonderful sense of humor that lifts everyone’s spirit. Beyond her joyful personality, this student is a positive leader who encourages and supports her classmates with kindness and confidence. She approaches challenges with a growth mindset, always eager to learn, and help her classmates along the way in any subject. This student has a strong work ethic, thinks things through and in a unique way, and is a role model for her peers. She is not only a joy to have in class, but also a shining example of leadership and positivity that inspires those around her. I am delighted to recognize Riata Mick for Student of the Month.

3rd Grade: Dacelynn Adame

Dacelynn is a kind-hearted and hardworking girl, known for her quiet strength and unwavering determination. With a gentle spirit and a strong sense of purpose, she approaches every task with dedication, never shying away from a challenge. Even in the face of adversity, she remains composed and focused, tackling obstacles not with complaint, but with courage and perseverance. Her resilience shines brightest during tough times, and her steady work ethic inspires those around her. Through it all, she stays grounded in kindness, proving that strength and compassion can go hand in hand. Congratulations to third grade's student of the month, Dacelynn Adame.

4th Grade: Nataly Salgado

As a fourth-grade student, this student consistently embodies the qualities of a model student. Her friendly and helpful nature creates a positive and welcoming atmosphere in the classroom.

Beyond being a friendly classmate, this student’s strong work ethic is truly commendable. She approaches every assignment with a positive attitude and a determination to do her best work, even when facing a challenge. This perseverance and dedication to learning is an inspiration to those around her. Her cheerful smile and contagious, bubbly energy is matched by the joyful sparkle in her everyday jewelry. Finally, her consistent politeness and respectful demeanor toward both peers and adults make her a pleasure to have in the classroom. She is a wonderful role model who enriches our learning community with both character and academic effort. For all these reasons, I nominate Nataly Salgado to be our Fourth Grade August/September student of the month.

5th Grade: Nasya Forgey

I would like to nominate the following student for September student of the month. This person goes above and beyond to help in the classroom. If something needs to be cleaned up this person will clean it without expecting any recognition. She is also very helpful with her peers, anyone who needs help she offers without thinking twice about it. Her day to day actions and how she handles herself within the classroom sets a great example for her peers. She stays focused in class and is always trying to participate in classroom discussions. In the short time I've had her in class she has truly shown her dedication to school and the work she does, as well as the friendships she has with peers. I am looking forward to watching her achieve great things in her life. It is my honor to nominate Nasya Forgey for September student of the month.
