As our Tot-Time Preschool reopens in early January for their second session, we wanted to recognize our first Tot-of-the-Month for 2026 based on their improvement during the first session!

Welcome Luca! Luca comes to school every day eager to share his love of learning with his friends. He has been a wonderful class leader and is always encouraging others with his excitement and curiosity. We look forward to seeing Luca's bright smile each morning and are amazed by how much we can all learn from him!

Membership is free for Somerville Teens who are in Grades 7-12, and either live in and/or attend a Somerville Public School. Membership registration opens September 1 and runs until August 31, 2026.

Drop-in access is available only for teens who:

• Are registered for a Teen Program Membership
• Have guardian approval for drop-in participation (selected "YES" during membership registration)
• ** Programs that allow drop-ins will be clearly labeled on the program flyer and MyRec posting, if a program posting includes "separate registration is required" you must register for that individual program**

💃 We finished our first Adult Zumba with Kelly this past December! It has been amazing to have Kelly who is willing to go the extra mile helping participants build confidence, express themselves through movement, and learn how to shake and shimmy like a pro!

🎄 Participants enjoyed a wonderfully cozy evening filled with festive music, crafty ornament decorating, and delicious hot chocolate. The room was glowing with glittery ornaments, laughter, and creativity as families and friends came together to kick off the season in the most joyful way.

🏐 Congratulations to the East Somerville Community School on their 2025 Middle School Intramural Volleyball Championship win over the number one seed, John F. Kennedy School, in an unforgettable final. Teamwork at its best!

🎨 We wrapped up the workshop with a festive celebration that truly captured the holiday spirit. Participants designed and decorated their own ornaments, worked on heartfelt arts and crafts projects to gift to loved ones, and enjoyed cozy cups of hot chocolate throughout the afternoon. The room was filled with laughter as everyone watched The Grinch, while also whipping up sweet, festive treats and wrapping presents made with care.

🥳 The school day was bursting with joy, laughter, and festive cheer from start to finish. Our little ones arrived in their favorite pajamas, ready for a day filled with holiday magic. The celebration included sweet goodie bags, yummy festive treats, and a special viewing of The Polar Express that had everyone snuggled up and smiling.

Do you supply scholarships or payment plans?

Most Somerville Parks and Recreation programs, classes, and activities require a registration fee to help cover program costs. The city offers waive fees to make these programs available and affordable for all Somerville residents. To read more on eligibility, restrictions, and instructions, please CLICK HERE for a list of our fee waivers provided in multiple languages.

How do I register for an activity?

1. Log in to your account. If you do not have one Create a New Account.
2. Click on the Register icon at the top your account or click the Register from the navigation bar and select a program of interest.
3. Click "Register Now" or "Register (selected member)" next to the desired activity.
4. Check the box next to the names of the members you are registering or, when applicable, choose the option that best fits your desired registration for a single member.
5. If available and seats are full, check the box next to the names of any members you wish to waitlist.
6. Click Check Out to view the cart and items within it.
7. Once added to the cart you will get options to "Return to the Program," "Continue Shopping," (if you need to add other items to the cart) or "Check Out" if you are ready to process.
8. Click Check Out to review your shopping cart, then Continue to move forward with your order.
9. Choose Check Out Online (when available) or Create a Pre-Registration Form (if available) and follow the steps.
