Reminder - Phones and Smartwatches
With the school year winding down, this is a friendly reminder regarding our policy on phones and smartwatches. Students are permitted to bring these devices to school, but they must be turned off and stored in their backpacks for the duration of the school day. Teachers will offer a gentle reminder to any student who forgets to put their watch away.
Chicago Bears Mini Monsters
We had a wonderful time welcoming the Chicago Bears Mini Monsters Program to Ivy Hill! Our students had a fantastic opportunity to stay active, build skills, and learn the fundamentals of football in a fun and engaging way.
From exciting drills to teamwork activities, our 2nd–5th grade Eagles showed great enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and energy throughout the event. It was wonderful to see so many smiles and students cheering each other on!
We were especially excited to welcome special guest Henry Melton, a former Chicago Bears player, who inspired students by sharing his experience and encouraging them to stay active and work hard.
A big thank you to our staff and parent volunteers who helped make this event run smoothly—we truly appreciate your support!

Author Visit
We were delighted to welcome award-winning author and illustrator Matthew Cordell to Ivy Hill! Our K–2 students enjoyed learning about his creative process and seeing how stories come to life.
They especially loved connecting his visit to books they’ve been reading, including Cornbread and Poppy.
It was a joyful day filled with curiosity, creativity, and a love of reading!

The 3rd Grade Team hosted a fun Board Games & Lunch, filled with laughter and friendly competition. Congratulations to our winners, Helena and Sebastian, who enjoyed their special experience with friends.
Thank you to our 5th Grade teachers for hosting a fun Slime & Lunch experience! Adeline enjoyed the opportunity to invite 9 friends to join her for this special reward.

Learn, Play, Grow This Summer!
Regular attendance at school is an essential part of each student’s educational experience in District 25. If your child will be absent, we ask that you report the absence using the method designated for your school, listed below.
Please notify the office if your child is absent, late, or leaving early:
-
Attendance Hotline: 847‑398‑4275 (press 1 & leave a message)
-
Email: ihoffice@sd25.org
If the school office has not been notified of a child’s absence by 9:05 a.m., the school will contact the parent/guardian. If they cannot be reached, the school will attempt to contact the emergency contacts listed on the student’s emergency form (included in the registration packet).
These procedures are in place to ensure families are informed each day and that all students are accounted for and safe.
Gym & Recess Participation Guidelines
Excusing Children from PE - Physical Education
Parents may request that their child be excused from Physical Education for one day due to a medical reason. Any absence beyond one day requires a physician’s note.
For elementary students, physician orders must clearly state any restrictions for both Physical Education and Recess. Students who are unable to participate in Physical Education may not participate in school-sponsored sports during that time.
