Federal Military Impact Aid Survey (New)
As we do each October, we are asking for parent/guardian cooperation in filling out a survey form to meet the requirements of Public Law 874. Under the provisions of Public Law 874, Bedford Public Schools must conduct an annual Federal Military Impact Aid Survey. The Town of Bedford receives a substantial sum of money under this provision, which lowers the cost of education to the taxpayers.
Please help us identify all federally connected students whose families are Active Duty Military, live on Hanscom AFB, OR work on federal facilities including Hanscom AFB, Bedford VA, Boston VA, Lincoln Public School on HAFB, Lincoln Labs, Mitre, and more!
Our yearly survey is fully electronic with e-signature. Parents/Guardians will receive a unique survey for each enrolled child. It is very important that all surveys are completed and electronically signed for each student, as reimbursement is made for all eligible students on a per-pupil basis. You may request a paper survey copy.
We thank you very much for your assistance with this important annual survey. For all questions regarding this matter, please contact the Business Office at bps-impactaidsurvey@bedfordps.org or 781-275-7708 for assistance.
For more information, please visit our website: 2026-2027 Annual Federal Impact Aid Survey

Student Flu Clinic
Hello Davis School parents and guardians,
I hope this email finds you well. For those of you I haven’t met, I’m Jackie, the Public Health Nurse for the town.
The Health Department is partnering with Davis School to offer a flu vaccine clinic to Davis School students on Thursday, October 22nd during the school day. The clinic will offer both the traditional flu vaccine and the intranasal flu vaccine (FluMist).
It is required that you register your student in advance of the clinic. Please note that there are limited spaces available and registration will close on October 8th.
To register for the flu vaccine clinic, click here: https://home.color.com/vaccine/register/bedford?calendar=be6c641a-e339-4409-a785-ae8ac0d4e70e&site=davis-school-1. Please note that you will have to choose an appointment time as part of the registration process – this is a default in the system. Please choose any time available – students will be called down based on teacher, not based on appointment time. We do collect and bill most insurances as we rely upon insurance reimbursements to purchase the vaccine given. There is no out-of-pocket cost to receive the vaccine. If your student does not have health insurance, you are still able to register them to receive a flu vaccine at no-cost, just click "no, I do not have health insurance" when registering them.
If you are unable to make this clinic, Bedford Health Department’s Town-Wide Clinic will be offering traditional and intranasal flu vaccine to those 3 years of age and older on Saturday, October 17th, 9:00AM – 12:00 PM. The registration link will be posted shortly to the Health Department’s Flu Vaccine Clinic Information – Community page.
Please email me with any questions at jbarmashi@bedfordma.gov or call the Health Department at 781-275-6507.
Sincerely,
Jackie Barmashi, BS, BSN, RN

Book Drive-Help Fill Davis and Lane Classrooms
BEST PTO is proud to partner once again with The Residence at Bedford as we launch our second Book Drive for Davis and Lane Schools.
With the CKLA curriculum in place, this drive helps us fill classrooms with rich, engaging books that build background knowledge, strengthen vocabulary, and support deeper comprehension— all essential for our students’ success.
How you can help:
Donate books via our curated Amazon Wish Lists.
Since Amazon Prime Day starts today, you may find many of these titles at lower prices — a great way to make your donation go even further.
Ship or drop off donations to: 240 South Road Bedford, MA 01730
Donations accepted through November 1st.
Thanks to your generosity, we collected more than 100 books last year.
Together, we can continue growing our collection and enriching classrooms at Davis and Lane.

Passport to Culture Returns to Davis
Davis families are invited to our second Passport To Culture! The Davis School, Parents Diversity Council and BEST PTO are hosting this event to give families the opportunity to celebrate and learn from each other’s identities, culture and traditions.
Multicultural Potluck 5:00-5:45 PM - Davis School Cafeteria - Try some dishes from around the world - this will not be a full dinner, just a tasting to celebrate different cultures.
Sign up by October 15 if you want to bring a dish to share.
Please bring a card identifying your dish with a list of all ingredients (for food allergies), and avoid dishes with peanuts and tree nuts. All food and drink will be generously provided by families, and guests should enjoy at their own discretion.
Cultural Pavilion 5:45 - 6:30 PM – Davis Gym – Featuring booths to showcase families’ cultures, traditional dress, pictures, maps or other treasures. (Please, NO food at booths)
Sign up by October 15 to host a booth (2nd tab of spreadsheet).
This is not a drop-off event. Families should stay together and supervise their children as they "travel" together throughout the evening.
