Quoi de Neuf à ÉPK
Semaine du 22 au 23 juin 2026 - LAST SMORE OF THE YEAR!
National Indigenous Peoples Day
Dear Parents and Guardians,
On June 22, EPK School will be celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day with a variety of engaging and educational activities for our students. We are excited to provide opportunities for students to learn about and appreciate Indigenous cultures, traditions, and contributions.
As part of the day's celebrations, students will participate in a grade-level workshop with Brianna Lizotte, an accomplished Métis fiddler. Through her music, students will learn about Métis culture and traditions, and they will also have the opportunity to learn some basic jigging steps.
Students will also take part in a beading project led by Frances Whitford. During this activity, they will explore the cultural significance of beadwork and create their own project. As beadwork can be intricate, our younger students will require additional support. We are looking for parent volunteers who would be willing to assist during this activity. If you are available to help, please email Mme Sarah at the office or your child's classroom teacher.
In addition, students will learn about the importance and history of bannock in Indigenous cultures and will have the chance to enjoy a sample tasting.
We look forward to a meaningful day of learning, celebration, and cultural appreciation. Thank you for your continued support and partnership in providing enriching experiences for our students.
Sincerely,
EPK School Staff

Twist & Shout! 🕺💃
We were very fortunate to welcome Will Ross, an Archbishop Jordan High School graduate and former ÉPK student, to our school for a special hip-hop dance presentation. Will generously volunteered his time to share his passion for dance with our students while also introducing them to some of the history and culture of hip-hop. His energy, confidence, and positive leadership were appreciated by both students and staff. We are grateful for young leaders like Will who give back to their community and inspire others through their talents.
Merci, Will, for sharing your gifts with us!
Our ABJ Grads and It’s a full-circle moment! 🎓
Our ABJ grads and EPK alumni stopped by today for some high-fives as they move on to the next exciting chapter in their lives. Of course, our current students didn't let them off easy—they had the grads running ragged during a game of recess soccer! ⚽🏃♂️
Once part of the family, always part of the family. Wishing our alumni all the best! ✨
