Summer Meals for kids is again a huge success!

As another successful summer comes to a close, Mattawan Consolidated Schools would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our students, families, staff, volunteers, and community partners for supporting the Summer Food Service Program throughout the summer months.

From June 11 through August 17, our Dining Services team proudly served 77,306 meals to children across our community. This incredible achievement reflects our shared commitment to ensuring that children have access to healthy, nutritious meals when school is not in session.

We are grateful for the trust and support of the Mattawan community and hope that our efforts made a meaningful difference for the many children and households who relied on the program this summer. Providing access to nutritious meals helps children stay healthy, active, and ready to learn, and we are proud to play a role in supporting our community's well-being.

Thank you for helping make this summer a success. We look forward to continuing this important work in 2027 and beyond, serving our families and strengthening our community one meal at a time.

Together, we served 77,306 meals and made a difference for children all summer long. πŸ’™πŸ’›

I know I said this above. . . but. . . Do you need to add money to your student's spending account? ❓❓❓

MS and HS students have lots of options for additional snack items they can purchase daily (these are not part of the free meal they are afforded, and are optional). Click the picture to be directed to the Family Portal where you can connect to your student's account to check balances, see what was purchased, or add funding with debit or credit cards.

Note: IF we are forced to revert to a paid-out-of pocket structure for student meals down the road (after 2025/2026), this is a significant tool for adding money to your child/student's account without sending cash to be deposited at the register. Fund transfers are not instantaneous, and can be delayed due to business hours or individuals banks. It is always best to deposit funds 24 hours in advance of when a student plans to use them.
