Principal's Corner
Dear BFPP Families,
It's that time of year when we all stop and consider what are we grateful for. When I think about BFPP there are so many things. I am honored and humbled each day to be among some pretty amazing humans. To the students who bring joy and inspiration. To our families who bring tenacity, spirit and grace. To the staff who bring knowledge, skill, compassion and love. Thank you, I am in awe. We live each day by our guiding words, you matter, you belong and you are loved. Thank you BFPP!
I am feeling particularly grateful for our dear Caroll. She has been a part of our family for nearly 8 years. She has brought a deep sense of care and service to our community in endless ways. Caroll will be retiring and her last day with BFPP (officially) is December 15th. More information will be coming soon on how we hope to honor and celebrate Caroll. Be on the lookout.
In the meantime, check out the "Tom the Turkey" in our entry (more info below).
Warmly (at least in my heart), Principal Kate

Story Time at Lunch with Teacher Carrie
Wednesdays, through the end of January, from 12:00-12:30 in the 2nd floor Family Lounge
As it gets colder and wetter outside, join Teacher Carrie inside on Wednesdays in the Family Lounge on the 2nd floor with your lunch. While you’re eating, relax and listen to a story. Middle schoolers are invited to join the lunch group in the Global Citizen room at this time on Wednesdays, while parents and younger kids join Carrie for Story Time/Lunch Time. Hope to see you there! No sign up required, come when you can!
Spread the Joy: BFPP Gift Card Drive!
As we approach the festive season, our hearts are filled with gratitude for our incredible community. Let's come together again this year to fill in the gaps for BFPP families facing financial challenges.
We're seeking donations of gift cards to help fill small, specific needs for BFPP families.
Whether it's a gift card for groceries, clothing, or gas, your contribution makes a significant impact. Gift cards provide families the opportunity to choose what they need most.
How You Can Help:
- Donate Gift Cards: Fred Meyer gift cards in $20 increments are best! Gift cards to Safeway, Walmart, Winco, and gift cards to gas stations (in $20 increments) are also helpful.
- Donate Cash: Let us buy the gift card for you! No amount is too small.
- Buy Raffle Tickets: Come to the BFPP Craft Fair on 12/14 and purchase raffle tickets - all proceeds will go to purchase gift cards.
- Drop off your donation with Peggy at the front desk, Counselor Erica, or BFPP parent Heidi Zollner.
Help us reach our goal of twenty $20 gift cards!
Questions about donations? Please contact Heidi Zollner. Thank you! Your generosity truly makes a difference for families in our community.
