Shoreham Elementary School
"You Belong Here"
Hello SES Community ,
It is hard to believe but, we only have one more school day left this school year (Monday)! This has been a great school year on many levels! Our students have shown so much growth not only academically but also socially and emotionally.
They have done a tremendous job this year creating a welcoming school community that embraces and welcomes all . By creating this welcoming environment it helps all students feel comfortable to embrace their roles as a student and to shoot for the stars and believe they can be and do whatever they put their minds to.
Lastly as our 5th graders move on to middle school at MUMS we wish them well on their educational journey . We know they will do GREAT things!
I hope to see you all on Monday for lunch at 11:30 and at our afternoon activities starting at 12:30 !
Best,
Lashawn

Your Invited
Dear Bridport and Shoreham Families,
I hope the end of the year is going well for you and that you have the opportunity to enjoy your children this summer as much as we have during the school year.
Thank you for your thoughts and engagement earlier this year as we explored potential options for the 2025-26 grade configuration for students at Shoreham Elementary School and Bridport Central School. Our educators felt heard and supported as they considered how best to accelerate students’ opportunity to grow. The hopes, questions, and concerns caregivers raised helped us to better understand how best to move forward in the short term. Next year, teachers from Shoreham, Bridport, and Weybridge will be working together to create common experiences that help to support success within multigrade classroom configurations.
Through our work together this Spring, we surfaced the likely educational benefits of single grade classrooms to accelerate learning. Our early planning suggested that this single-grade classroom option would be possible if the Bridport PreK program moved to Shoreham Elementary School (which also offers the ability to expand our preK spots) and K-5 students from both towns were educated together at Bridport Central School. We want to begin the process of developing the details of that option this summer to allow families to consider this design for the 2026-2027 school year by October 2025. Once we have clear details, we will again gauge parental support levels within both communities and forward all information to the ACSD Board of Directors for their consideration this Fall.
I have asked Emily Blistein, our Communications and Engagement Director, to facilitate this working group over the summer. Both building principals, and our Directors of Facilities and Finance/Operations will design this potential model alongside parents from both communities. If you are interested in participating as a member of this working group, please reach out directly to Emily by Thursday, June 19, 2025 at eblistein@acsdvt.org or 802-382-1183.
In partnership,
Wendy
