Panther Message
Welcome Back Panthers!
Dear Parents,
We have thoroughly enjoyed welcoming all of our students back into our building! Our hallways have been filled with smiles, high fives, and excitement as we begin a wonderful new school year together.
We have successfully completed our Fall i-Ready Reading and Math assessments. This month, we are especially looking forward to welcoming our grandparents for our Grandparents’ Day Lunch on September 11.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. As always, please let us know if there is anything we can do to support you or your family.
Warmly,
Ms. Logan & Ms. Wolfe

Important Attendance Information
Attendance Do's and Don'ts
Attendance Do’s:
- Do send written excuses or legal documentation for any absences within 3 days of the student's return to school.
- Do prioritize scheduling appointments (e.g., doctor, dentist) and vacations/breaks outside of school hours when possible.
- Do communicate early with the school if your child is experiencing challenges that may impact attendance (e.g., transportation issues, health concerns).
- Do monitor attendance through the school's portal or by contacting teachers regularly.
- Do encourage punctuality—students arriving late often miss important instructional time.
- Do ensure students attend all classes on eLearning or remote learning days, especially in hybrid or online formats.
Attendance Don’ts:
- Don’t assume absences will be automatically excused—documentation must be provided for any excused absence.
- Don’t allow unexcused absences to accumulate. Excessive absences can result in academic consequences and potential truancy issues.
- Don’t ignore notifications from the school regarding tardiness or absenteeism—address concerns early.
- Don’t send excuses via text or email unless they obtain an original/written signature.

2026-2027 School Calendar
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! This year, our goal is to reduce chronic absenteeism and truancy. We kindly ask families to plan vacations and trips during the school’s scheduled breaks whenever possible.
Regular attendance is essential for student success. When students miss instructional time, it can be difficult for them to keep up with lessons, assignments, classroom discussions, and other learning activities. Consistent attendance helps students stay engaged, build strong academic habits, and fully participate in the school community.
Thank you for your partnership and support in helping our students have a successful school year.
Best regards,
Jane Edwards Elementary School

Connection Point
Stress can feel overwhelming, but kids can learn to handle it with your support. Keep routines steady, offer quiet time after school, and use tools like a fidget toy, breathing video, or coloring page to help them relax and reset. You might say, “Let’s take a break together” or “Let’s make a calm-down plan” during stressful moments. These simple strategies can help kids feel safe, supported, and better able to work through stress.
