📚 March Reading Madness Challenge
Our March Reading Madness Challenge is in full swing! Students will earn points for the minutes they read, and the class with the most points will win a special celebration party.
Please encourage your child to read each day and log their reading minutes so their class can compete. Let the reading games begin!

📵 Policy Reminder – Cell Phones
Please remember that cell phones should remain turned off and stored away during the school day unless otherwise directed by a staff member. This helps minimize distractions and keeps students focused on learning.
⚠️ Important Allergy Reminder – No Nuts in School
To help keep all students safe, nuts and foods containing nuts are not permitted in school due to student allergies.
Parents and guardians, please ensure that students do not bring snacks containing nuts or peanut butter. If your child brings Lunchables or similar packaged meals, please remove any items that contain nuts or peanut butter before sending them to school.
Your cooperation helps us maintain a safe and healthy environment for all students. Thank you for your understanding and support.
🌸 First Day of Spring – March 20
As the seasons change, please remember to dress your child appropriately for outdoor recess. Layers are a great way to keep them comfortable throughout the day.
📈 Attendance Matters!
Our yearly goal for average attendance is 90%. This week our attendance rate decreased to 62%. Let’s work together to move this number upward!
Regular attendance is one of the most important factors in your child’s academic success. Students who attend school daily are more likely to stay on track, build strong learning habits, and make meaningful growth in reading and math.
How you can help:
✅ Ensure your child arrives at school on time each morning
✅ Avoid early dismissals whenever possible
✅ Schedule appointments after school hours when possible
✅ Remember — every minute of instruction counts
Together, we can reach our attendance goal and continue building a strong and successful school community.
📌 Mark Your Calendars
The Third Marking Period ends March 27.
Please ensure that all assignments are completed and submitted as we wrap up the marking period. Report cards will be distributed during report card conferences on April 15.
Thank you for your continued support of Main Street Elementary School. Your partnership makes a difference in the success of our students each day.
Warm regards,
Ms. D. Medley Principal
Mrs. C. Edmondson Assistant Principal

CUSD Technology Usage
Parents and Guardians:
Chromebooks or other technological devices are used in class for students to complete assignments and assessments. Students may not download games, wallpapers or participate in video group discussions. Improper use of technology could result in the student losing privileges of using the school's device.
You may access your child's grades and attendance!
Please reach out with any questions. We encourage you to have regular conversations with your students about their progress and learning. We truly appreciate your support and look forward to the opportunity to continue to partner for your student’s success!
All students must report to school in uniform everyday!
Car Line
Parents:
Please refrain from making u turns in the car line during dismissal. The safety of our children and parents is of utmost importance to us. We would like to move the cars through the line without any disruptions.
