South Dakota weather is upon us. Please refer to our recess guidelines & send the appropriate outside gear with your students each day. We go out for recess every day unless it is below 0.
Students should bring their winter gear every day.
Bussers have been meeting once a month to go over the importance of following bus expectations. We're working very hard to practice these expectations & staying safe when riding the bus to and/or from school. If you have a student who rides the bus, please take time to go over the expectations (linked below) with them & discuss the importance of following these when on the bus. Thank you for your help in keeping our buses safe!
If your student will be late or gone for the day, please call the office to let us know by 8am.
They will pass the message on to your child's teacher.
For all day absences, you may also use the Online Absence Request on Infinite Campus. (Instructions are linked below).
If your student is absent for an appointment during school hours, please bring a doctor's note documenting the appointment to help us better track the attendance appropriately.
If your student comes home in different clothes than they came to school in, please wash them & return them to school as soon as possible! Accidents happen often & we have a limited amount of extras for students to use.
If you plan on visiting your student at school, please come in through the front doors & check in at the office. For a smooth & quick check in, please have your drivers license ready.
Our Lost & Found is located inside the front doors.
All items will be marked & kept for 30 days.
After 30 days, items left will either be donated or disposed of.
Don't forget your tennis shoes on gym days!! If you're wearing snow boots to school, be sure to pack your tennis shoes in your backpack!
If after school plans change for your student, please call the office before 2pm. This ensures time to get the message to the student & teacher to be sure they get home safely. This also helps teachers who may be looking for your student at the end of the day are able to get reliable information from the office on where your student is supposed to go.
If you have youth sized pants with an elastic waist that your kids have outgrown, we'll gladly take them off your hands! Accidents happen & we don't always have enough extras on hand. These can be dropped off in the office at any time!
Please be aware of where you're parking when using the bus lane on Jefferson Ave. The south end of the bus lane should be clear at all times so our buses are able to come & go easily as needed. We encourage you to use the north end of the bus lane to drop off & pick up your students. If you plan on parking & meeting your student on the black top, please find a spot other than the bus lane to park.
When parking your car & leaving it, please be aware of where & how it is parked. Driveways should not be blocked & should be easily accessible. Please refrain from parking your car in the bus lane if you plan to meet your student(s) on the blacktop.
Breakfast is served from 7:35am - 7:55am each day.
Lunch times vary per grade.
Please note : Fast food is not allowed in the lunch room. If you'd like to have lunch with your student, you can buy a school lunch or bring a lunch packed from home.

PAWS is the PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports) acronym we use to set schoolwide expectations. Each area of our school uses PAWS to explain the different expectations throughout the school. Talk to your students about what they know about PAWS & how they demonstrate it throughout their day!
This month, let's look at the PAWS expectations in the classroom.
This is where students spend most of their school day; talk with them about the importance of following these expectations.
Be sure to like & follow us on Facebook for reminders, updates, upcoming dates, pictures & more!
