Food will be collected from each school on November 19, 2026 and be distributed to families on November 23, 2026. The Lovington Food Coalition is so grateful for the outpouring of generosity the schools have shown as we start our 12th season of giving. This year SGA will be collecting canned cranberry sauce.

Our Sixth Grade Academy Student Council members showed their school spirit on Thursday, October 8, by helping decorate our Homecoming parade float and proudly representing our school in the parade! Students enjoyed riding on the float, celebrating Homecoming, and spreading smiles throughout the community by handing out candy along the parade route. We are proud of our student council members for their teamwork, enthusiasm, and school spirit!

In honor of National Boss’s Day on October 16, we took time to celebrate our very own Principal, Steve Barron! We are grateful for his leadership, dedication, and the many ways he supports our students, staff, and school community each day. Thank you, Mr. Barron, for all you do to help make our school a wonderful place to learn and work. We appreciate you!

Election Day and Instructional Friday Schedule Election Day and Instructional Friday Schedule

There will be no school for students or staff on Tuesday, November 3, in observance of Election Day. Since our school follows a four-day school week, Friday, November 6, will be an instructional day to make up for the missed school day.

Please plan accordingly, as students and staff will attend school on Friday, November 6, instead of following our usual Friday day off. School will resume on Monday, November 9, following our regularly scheduled school calendar.

Thank you for your flexibility and cooperation!

Thanksgiving Holiday Schedule Thanksgiving Holiday Schedule

There will be no school for students or staff on Wednesday, November 25, and Thursday, November 26, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. School will resume on Monday, November 30, following the regularly scheduled calendar.

Last month, our Portrait of a Wildcat focus was Integrity - doing the right thing when no one is watching.

These students are part of our district’s Portrait of a Wildcat initiative, which identifies the skills every Lovington student needs to succeed: confidence, communication, critical thinking, adaptability, and integrity. The initiative also supports our 2024–2029 Strategic Plan’s goal of engaging students in meaningful learning and building strong school communities.
