Throughout the year, Aronimink has classroom parties to celebrate special times of year. These usually consist of a harvest party, a winter party and an end of the year celebration. These will be at the discretion of the teachers. The celebrations usually occur towards the end of the school day. If you want to help out with these celebrations, please email aroniminkhomeandschool@gmail.com with your name, your child's name, grade, and your child's teacher name.
π΅ Music Notes from Mr. Labonde π΅
Hello Band and Orchestra Parents,
Just a reminder, once you've completed the GoogleForm to register your child to play a new instrument, you must also complete your instrument rental with Zeswitz Music. The deadline to complete new rentals is September 30th. Their website is ZeswitzMusic.com/rent. If your child is signing up for a new orchestra instrument (violin, viola, cello, double bass) you will need to know what size instrument to rent. Those sizes can be found linked in the GoogleForm you completed, and I will also include them HERE as well. Students are listed by their classroom teacher. The information in the Band and Orchestra Parent's Guide (also linked in the GoogleForm) will help make sure you've ordered the correct instrument and materials. If you need any help, please feel free to email clabonde@upperdarbysd.org
***All ORCHESTRA members in their 2nd or 3rd year will have 8:15 morning rehearsals beginning on Tuesday, October 6th. Students should enter through the GYM lobby doors.
***All BAND members will have 8:15 morning rehearsals beginning on Thursday, October 1st. Students should enter through the GYM lobby doors.
***New instruments and materials are scheduled to be delivered on September 21st, and again on September 30th

September is Attendance Awareness Month
Every school day matters. Regular attendance helps students stay connected to their teachers, classmates, and learning, while also building the habits they need for success in school and beyond. Establishing consistent morning and evening routines, planning ahead for appointments, and communicating with your childβs school when challenges arise can make a meaningful difference in student attendance.
Together, we can help every student be present, engaged, and ready to learnβbecause every day counts!

Aronimink Arrival & Dismissal Procedures
To ensure a smooth and safe experience for all students and families, please adhere to the following arrival and dismissal procedures.
BEFORE SCHOOL PROCEDURES
Students should not arrive at school prior to 8:35 AM. The Aronimink doors will open at 8:35 AM to allow all students to safely enter the building and make their way to their designated space. Students will remain in their supervised assigned until the start of the school day at 8:45 am.
AFTER SCHOOL PROCEDURES
Teachers of children in Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades will walk their students to their designated exit area at dismissal. Parents should walk up to meet their child so that the teacher can see them and acknowledge the pick-up. It is essential that parents send changes in dismissal arrangements in the form of a note or email to the classroom teacher. For safety reasons, the school will request identification from the adult at the time of pick-up. If anyone other than the parent picks up the child, they must be listed on the emergency card and have photo identification.
Students in grades 3, 4 and 5 will be dismissed from their classrooms. Be sure to let your childβs teacher know about any concerns or alternate plans about dismissal. Also be sure to tell your child what to do if your dismissal plans change. ALL STUDENTS should know that they can immediately return to the school office to call home or wait safely for a ride.
Please see the detailed arrival and dismissal plans by clicking the links above.

Volunteers
If you are a VOLUNTEER or want to be a volunteer, please be sure to visit our website to review a full description of the requirements for a volunteer (https://www.upperdarbysd.org/departments12/human-resources/parent-community-volunteer-information). All parents interested in becoming volunteers must contact the principal to apply by completing a volunteer application that can be found on BoardDocs. We can also provide you with a paper application upon request. This process takes time, so I encourage you to get started by procuring your clearance as soon as possible. Our Districtβs website also provides instructions on how to obtain the three mandatory clearances under the Human Resources department.
