Research and Refreshments
CASLN - Monday, February 3rd @ 4:30
Designing a Thriving Research Program
Join us to talk about the elephant in the library. We are expected to teach the research process to a variety of grade levels without a common set of expectations or a unified understanding of what really works. What should students be researching and how? What is the best way to teach note-taking? What type of citation expectations should we have at each grade level? What role does the classroom teacher have in this process? Who is responsible for assessing students? A longitudinal research scope and sequence document will be created and shared based on our discussion. We will revisit this topic in more detail at a future meeting.
