WestSide High School Launches the LaunchPad
Every Eagle deserves a runway, and now WestSide has one. The LaunchPad is WestSide's brand-new CTE hub designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world career success. Whether a student is heading to college, trade school, an apprenticeship, or directly into the workforce, the LaunchPad helps them get there.
What students get:
Career guidance and realistic next-step planning
Resume, cover letter, and mock job application support
College, trade school, and apprenticeship application help
Scholarship, FAFSA, and WASFA navigation
Local businesses and industry professionals are invited to partner with WestSide through career tours, job shadowing, internships, and career fair participation. The students in our classrooms today are the workforce of tomorrow and your mentorship shapes that future. Interested? Contact Cindy Murie at murie.c@wenatcheeschools.org.
Meet WSD’s Newest SRO, Officer Madeline Austin
Wenatchee School District is proud to introduce our newest School Resource Officer, and she is a familiar face in our community.
Officer Madeline Austin grew up in East Wenatchee. After graduating, Officer Austin served four years in the U.S. Navy before returning home to begin her career in public safety. She spent two years as a dispatcher with RiverCom where she developed the calm, steady presence that comes from knowing how to respond when it matters most. For the past four and a half years, she has served with the Wenatchee Police Department, and she is now bringing that experience directly into our schools. Office Austin joined WSD SRO Edgar Barajas this August and will serve all our schools.
🏫 Bond Information
The November 3 Bond: Improving Air Quality Across Wenatchee
The proposed bond is about more than Wenatchee High School. It would also replace aging heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems at seven schools across the district.
HVAC improvements are proposed at Lewis & Clark, Mission View, Newbery, and Sunnyslope elementary schools, as well as Foothills, Orchard, and Pioneer middle schools.
Many of these systems are operating beyond their expected lifespan. Replacing them would provide more reliable heating and cooling, improve indoor air quality, and help schools better filter air during wildfire smoke events.
