Hello Miller Families!
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year at Miller Elementary! We’re thrilled to welcome both new and returning families to what promises to be an inspiring year ahead. Our dedicated teachers and staff will soon be coming back to school preparing to help every child thrive during their time in preschool or kindergarten. Partnering with our families is at the heart of everything we do, and we look forward to working alongside you to make this school year a joyful and memorable experience for your children.
I know you are getting excited to find out your child's teacher and all the important details about the year ahead! I will be sending out your child’s teacher placement letter on August 10th via a Final Forms message so please be on the lookout!
We can't wait to open our doors and say HELLO to all our new preschool and kindergarten children! We are getting so close to starting a wonderful adventure together! This is a VERY important newsletter that has a lot of reminders about our upcoming Popsicle Parties, Open House, and our First Days of School. My next newsletter will include some important operational items such as lunch, snack, arrival, and dismissal. You will also be receiving many important items from your child's teacher at our upcoming Open House so please know we will all work together to make this a smooth transition for both you and your child!
POPSICLE PARTIES

- Please bring your child's school supplies to the Open House! If your last name is A-L it's helpful to come between 3:00-4:00 and if your last name starts with M-Z to come between 4:00-5:00. If these time frames don't work for your family, please feel free to arrive any time during the 3:00-5:00 window!

Please save the date for our Preschool and Kindergarten Open House!
Our Preschool and Kindergarten Open House will be held on Friday, August 14th from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM. During this time, you and your child will get to visit Miller Elementary, meet their teacher, and walk the school building and classrooms to be ready for our first day! We ask that you bring your child's school supplies to our Open House so their book bag isn’t too heavy on the first days of school.
To help with parking and traffic flow in the building, we encourage all students with last names beginning with the letters A-L to come between 3:00-4:00 and those with last names beginning with M-Z to attend 4:00-5:00. If this suggested time frame doesn't work for your family, please adjust to the other window of time. We are excited to spend this time with you and your child!
Transportation schedules are now available through the MyRide K-12 App. Thank you to the parents who responded previously and registered your students. Please note: schedules and route times are subject to change due to continuing student changes.
The following attachment is the directions on how to download the App, if needed. You will need to know your students district ID# which can be located in final forms and their date of birth. You can also find this information on the ACSD website under Departments/Transportation.

If your child will be dropped off or picked up from school, I’ll be sharing more detailed information in upcoming newsletters. Please note that Miller does not have a designated drop-off or pick-up lane. All families must park and walk to the arrival doors. We follow specific arrival and dismissal time frames to help reduce congestion and keep everyone safe. Due to limited parking, this remains one of our biggest logistical challenges. We appreciate your patience, cooperation, and teamwork to help make arrival and dismissal as smooth and safe as possible for all students and families!
In Aurora, we require planned absence forms when you know in advance that your child will be missing school. Additionally, if you will be submitting for any religious expression days, these need to be submitted prior to the start of the school year. We're here to support your child's success with regular school attendance and staying on track throughout the year!
If your child will require any medication to be administered during the school day, they must have a doctor's note on file. We have included all the important medical forms that are necessary.
Additionally, if your child has their well-visit or dental exam this summer, you can either upload the medical forms into Final Forms or bring it to school at our Open House in the fall!
New doctors’ orders and new medication will be required for each school year. You can locate all medication forms on our website at: www.aurora-schools.org→departments→nursing services or download the forms from below!
