Final Progress Reporting Deadline
4th Quarter Progress Reports & Work Samples - Due May 15th
May 15th is right around the corner and it is a great time to review all of your students' grades!
- Students should be 100% complete with their 2025-26 classes by this date.
- For each course your student is enrolled in, you need to provide a grade, a short progress summary, and a work sample.
- If these three items are not provided, your teacher will reach out to get them completed or they will have to enter a U (unsatisfactory) for K-2nd or F for 3rd-12th.
- If your Quarter 1, 2, or 3 Progress Reports got closed with Incompletes, please reach out to your advisory teacher so you can work together to get those updated as well.
The information in this Smore should help walk you through entering grades and work samples.

How To Access Progress Reports:
- Log in to Brightways.
- Click on "family dashboard".
- Under your student's name, click on "quarter 1 progress report". When you start building the quarter 2 progress report, the name will change to "quarter 2 progress report" and so on.
- Click on the GREEN "add grades" button.
What to Include for a Successful Progress Report:
- Grade - Letter grade that the student has earned during that quarter.
- Progress Summary - Should include on average the number of hours per day and number of days per week student spends on the subject. It should also include topics covered. As a great reminder of what your student learned each quarter, you should be able to pull the main topics right from the curriculum. You may want to include the % grade they earned. Parents can include any supplementary materials being used for a specific course. Example: If a student reads 20 minutes 4-5 times a week, completes workbook pages, or receives and completes a subscription box, etc.
- Work Samples - One work sample per subject is required. An example of their best work (a paper, test, quiz) is suggested. A certificate of completion is another good work sample. Elective classes (non-high school) - photos of the student participating is acceptable. High school electives should include the class "journal" and log of documented hours.
- Parent Comments - This is a great place to record those learning opportunities that don't fit under any one particular subject. Examples: Participated in a chili cook-off and won 3rd place or volunteered at Special Olympics.
Your student's progress report is written documentation of what they learned during that time period. Think of it as an educational portfolio.

Save & Submit!!
- If you are having a hard time uploading work samples, you can label them and email them to your teacher or drop them off at the office.
- After you have entered grades, progress summaries, and work samples you can SUBMIT your student's progress report to your advisory teacher for approval.
- It is also helpful if you send your teacher a quick email to let them know once you have gotten them submitted so they can go in to review/approve them for you.
