District-Wide SECURE Drill Friday District-Wide SECURE Drill Friday

On Friday, October 16, Mason Public Schools (MPS) will conduct a district-wide SECURE drill at all buildings and locations.

During a SECURE action, students and staff return to the inside of the building and all exterior doors are locked. Inside the building teaching and learning continue as usual. Entry and exit during this time will be highly monitored and limited.

Throughout the school year, students and staff will take part in drills to practice the five actions in the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) which was implemented last year.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to talk to students about drills and reinforce the importance of practicing for safety at home. Resources for talking to students about drills and a list of frequently asked questions are available on the School Safety website under Safety Drills.

For more information about drills and emergency procedures, please visit the School Safety website.

As a reminder, in the event of actual emergencies, MPS uses the Skylert system to send official notifications and information. Please be sure your contact information in Skyward is up to date in order to receive this information via email, phone and text message.
