Principal Message
Happy Mother's Day! As we start our final full week of school, along with a few grade level field trips, we also have several additional events planned for this week.
- Monday - Fourth graders from Owens Cross Roads will come to New Hope Elementary where they will tour the school and enjoy recess/cookout time with our fourth graders.
- Tuesday - Our sixth graders will travel to the high school where they will meet with the admin team and learn what to expect as they prepare for middle school.
- Friday - Our school will celebrate the end of another amazing year with Field Day. We still have open slots for volunteers for those that can help. You can volunteer with this Field Day Link.
2024-2025 Enrollment
Thank you to those that have registered your child or children for the next school year. According to the district, this is something that MUST to be done now in order to have our numbers accurate for next year. Our office staff is on standby and ready to help if you need assistance. Here is a link to the enrollment/registration page: MCSS Registration.
Message from the Nurse
If your child has a medication with the school nurse, it must be picked up by Monday, May 20, 2024 by 3:00pm. All medications not picked up by this date will be destroyed per policy. A letter with a return form on the bottom was sent home last week with students who currently have medications with the school nurse. A blank form for next year was also included with the letter to prepare for next school year. Please contact Nurse Heather with any questions.

This Week
- May 13 - OCR Fourth Grade Transition Day
- May 14 - NHES Sixth Grade Transition Day
- May 17 - Field Day!
- May 20 - Sixth Grade Ceremony (9:00 AM)
- May 21 - Kindergarten Ceremony (8:00 AM) & Half Day for All Students
- May 22 - Last Student Day & Half Day for All Students (dismissal at 12:30)
K & 6th Grade Ceremonies
Parent feedback indicated a desire for us to focus on more formal ceremonies for Grades K and 6 rather than attempt ceremonies for all grade levels. Other grade levels (PK & Grades 1-5) will still have end-of-year celebrations in their classrooms. All students will also enjoy Field Day scheduled for Friday, May 17.
- The Sixth Grade Ceremony will take place on Monday, May 20, at 9:00 AM. The ceremony will be followed by a reception in the library. The teachers will be sharing more details in the coming weeks regarding what students should wear and what to expect. The goal is make this event extra special for our sixth graders as they prepare to transition to the middle school.
- The Kindergarten Ceremony will take place on Tuesday, May 21, at 8:00 AM. Kindergarten Cap & Gown pictures will be taken on April 10 (royal blue cap/gown with a red tassel). Pictures will be taken first thing in the morning and the company will not be able to schedule a make-up picture day. Families will also need to pre-pay for these photos. Regarding the ceremony, teachers will be sharing more details in the coming weeks.
The last two days of the school year, May 21 and May 22, are still scheduled as half days for all students with dismissal at 12:30.
