News from Ms. Ricks, Principal News from Ms. Ricks, Principal

Dear Explorer Families,

We hope all of our families enjoyed a wonderful and restful fall break! It has been another fantastic week of learning, and with our first nine-week period under our belts, learning is in full swing! It is truly wonderful to see the growth taking place throughout our building each day. Our Explorers continue to learn, grow, and shine, and we are so proud of all they are accomplishing!

As a friendly reminder, our school day ends at 3:40 p.m. All students must be picked up by car or dismissed by bus, daycare van/YMCA, or as walkers/bikers by this time. We do not have staff available to supervise students after dismissal, so it is important that all students have a plan for getting home promptly at the end of the school day. We also encourage families to establish a backup plan in the event of an emergency or an unexpected situation that prevents you from picking up your child on time. Thank you for helping us ensure the safety of all our Explorers!

We are also excited to invite all families to our annual PTA-sponsored Trunk or Treat event tomorrow! This is always such a fun event for our school community, and we look forward to celebrating with our Explorers and their families. There will be music, food trucks, a cake walk, face painting, and, of course, lots of candy! We hope you will join us for an evening filled with fun, laughter, and wonderful memories.

Please be sure to read the remaining sections of our newsletter for additional information about upcoming events, important reminders, and the latest PTA news. There is always something exciting happening in our school community, and we want to make sure our families stay informed and involved!

Thank you for your continued support, partnership, and commitment to our school.

Lunch is a fun, social time of day for our Explorers! Any parents who wish you attend lunch may use the link above to sign up. As a reminder only parents/guardians, non-school aged children and immediate family listed on the lunch visitor permission form are able to visit for lunch. Due to limited space, visitors are limited to 2 visitors per student (non school age children are counted as visitors). Each parent must sign up for their own seat and a separate seat for any non school age siblings.

Here are some reminders for when lunch visits begin...PLEASE REMEMBER when signing up to include your child's name and teacher in the comments. All visitors must show a physical, hard copy government issued ID (driver's license or passport) when you arrive for lunch. We ask that each student be limited to having a lunch visit one day per week to allow all Explorers the opportunity to have a lunch visit. If you are not able to come to lunch after you signed up, please remove your name from the list. Also, please be aware that a few minutes prior to your child's lunch time ending, the monitors will direct your child to join his/her class; this helps with making our cafeteria exit procedures run more smoothly. The following steps will guide you in signing up for lunch times to visit your child and with providing lunch visitor permission. Please call 281 234 1700 with any questions. Thank you!

Step 1:

Please sign up for date/time of lunch visit here: Link

If needed...

Step 2:

For immediate family visitors (limited to grandparents, non-school aged siblings, and stepparents) who are NOT the parents/guardians the online Lunch Visitor form must be filled out by the parent/guardian BEFORE the lunch visit. Link
