WELCOME BACK SOUTHWEST FAMILIES/ STUDENTS!
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! We are excited to welcome our students and families back to Southwest and look forward to another year of learning, growth, and success.
At Southwest, we believe strong partnerships between school and home are the foundation of student success. Together, we will create a caring, supportive community where every student is challenged, encouraged, and empowered to reach their full potential. We look forward to working with you to make this a wonderful year for every child.
Here are a few important details/dates:
TIME CHANGES for 26/27 School Year:
- 8:25am: Doors open for breakfast
- 9:10am: Start of regular school day
- 3:30pm: Dismissal Time
K4 students should arrive at school for 9:00am. Breakfast is served after 9:00am.
Monday, August 17th: Student homeroom assignments posted on SW main doors.
Thursday, August 20, 2026, 4:00-5:30pm: Southwest Open House. Students and families will meet their teacher(s) and see their classrooms.
Monday, August 24th is the first day of school for students.
- K4 & K5 students will dismiss at 11:30am the first two weeks of school.
Sign-up for PowerSchool to access your child’s grades and progress throughout the school year, as well as Seesaw app for direct communication with teachers.
For the safety of all children, parents, and SW staff, parking regulations must be followed.
If you are interested in volunteering, please visit the district website link below for directions to obtain your clearances. You must have your clearances to volunteer.
- Throughout the school year, our school will conduct lockdown and fire drills to help reinforce important safety procedures and ensure that students and staff are prepared to respond appropriately in the event of an emergency. These drills are an important part of keeping our school community safe.
