October felt like June this past week, an important reminder to dress your child in layers this time of year! The week was filled with all things fall: pumpkins, leaves, acorns, gourds, and of course lots of activities around spiders, bats, and jack o lanterns. Your children are making so much growth in the two months since they started with us in their play, communication, motor skills, and academic readiness skills. We look forward to talking with you more about your child during our conferences.

In the meantime, enjoy this weekend, there is so much to do in Walpole.

School pictures have arrived and will be distributed on Monday. A make up date will be scheduled and shared.

Elm Street School is having its Fall Festival on Sunday from 12-3. There will be carnival games, food by Crisp, raffles, bake sale, an ice cream truck, and more!

🎃As Halloween approaches, please take note that students can wear orange and black rather than costumes. We are celebrating all things fall, including some not so spooky Halloween themed games and art activities. Due to allergy and safety concerns, please do not send in candy for the class, as food cannot be shared among students. If you would like to pack a sweet treat for your child, be mindful of the allergy policy in your child's classroom. If you have specific questions, contact your child's classroom teacher and Julie Martin.

Parent/teacher conferences will take place in November on the evenings of the 7th, 14th, and on the early release day on 11/15. Your child's teacher will be in touch with you with more details. This is an opportunity to discuss your child's adjustment to preschool, their progress to date, and ask questions of your child's teacher.

Sweet Snack Scribbles

This year at parent/teacher conferences we will be offering parents the option to leave their child a note on a plate that the child will use at snack time! We will have a table set up with plates and markers, stickers, pencils etc. for parents to leave their children a sweet snack scribbles, and will be asking for a CASH donation of $1 to the Daniel Feeney PAC. Our teachers will give all students their plates during snack on Monday 11/18.

There will be a tour of DFP for prospective families on Monday, October 28 at 6 pm. Please share this information if you know anyone interested in the 2025-2026 school year. If you would like to attend, please enter the building through the main office of Elm Street School (located behind the building as you enter, look for the large orange Elm Street School sign). Daniel Feeney Preschool is a shared building with Elm Street School and we are located at 415 Elm Street Walpole.

Peer applications for the 2025-2026 school year will be available online in January 2025. Applicants will be selected via lottery system and there will be more information about the application timeline and process in November. Please be sure to check our website regularly and follow the preschool on the WPS app for all 2025-2026 school year information.
