The Lion Letter
November 2, 2026
From the Principal
Dear Parents and Community,
I am a little late getting out this week's newsletter. Thank you for your patience!
Football, Cross-Country and Volleyball seasons are over. We have moved on to Middle School Wrestling. I had a WONDERFUL time watching our girls compete in an all-girls tournament on Monday in Independence. I am so proud of our students!
We have several events coming up including the NHS Blood Drive on the 9th, the school musical Grease on the 13th and 14th, and band and choir concerts on the 10th. These kids have been working so hard. Don't forget to join us for these performances.
I had my first SITE council meeting a few weeks ago. We talked about all the strengths of our school as well as some things we need to work on. If you are interested in joining, it is not too late,. Please fill out the attached form. We meet just a few times a year on Mondays at 6:00pm.
Thanks for all you do for our kids,
Beth Janssen

We encourage parents, staff, community members, and eligible students to sign up to donate! Students ages 17 and 18 can sign up on their own, and 16-year-olds can donate with parental consent.
Students needing a parental consent form can see Mrs. Hamblin or any NHS member.
Please see the attached flyer for signup information. Help us reach our goal of 25 units and make a difference in someone's life!
