Bobcat Bulletin
November 14, 2025
Dear Moretown Families,
While students enjoyed a day off from school on Monday, our Moretown staff spent the day engaged in professional learning. Topics included creating fluent readers, the Re-Set Process to help students build their toolkit for self-regulation, designing math instruction, developing social awareness skills and more. Staff had the opportunity to choose learning sessions based on their individual needs and the needs of their students. I am always impressed by our staffโs dedication to improving their skill set to better serve their students.
We are continuing our Gratitude Campaign and are looking for families to share their Moretown experiences on social media, Front Porch Forum, or verbally with neighbors. Your stories help highlight the spirit of our community and the positive experiences our students and caregivers have at school every day. Thank you for adding your voice to the campaign and thank you to those who already have.
Our school has set a goal of collecting 250 non-perishable items to donate to the Waterbury Common Market and the Moretown Little Free Pantry. While we all embrace the season of giving, some families could use a little extra support this time of year. Thank you for picking up a few extra items at the grocery store or checking your cabinets for donations that could be offered to a family in need.
Our PTO is busy preparing for our upcoming Winter Sports Program. If you have not already done so, please pay the $35 participation fee for students in grades 1โ6 who will be traveling to Sugarbush. If you are unsure whether you have paid, please reach out directly to the PTO at MoretownPTO@gmail.com.
The Waitsfield PTO will host its 46th annual Ski & Skate Sale this weekend. If you are in need of winter gear or recreational items, consider stopping by. More information can be found in the Community Offerings section.
Thank you to all families who have participated in Parent-Teacher Conferences. These meetings are an important way for students to celebrate their learning and set goals for the remainder of the year. There is one more week of conferences before the Thanksgiving vacation.
I wish you all a warm, fulfilling, and joyful weekend. I look forward to welcoming our students back on Monday for one more week of learning. Please note there is no school November 24โ28 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Ms. Kate

Karate at the Moretown Town Hall
It's been an amazing few months at Central Vermont Martial Arts โ our classes are growing, and so is our community. Every week, I see kids, teens, and adults coming together not just to learn punches and kicks, but to build something much bigger: focus, patience, confidence, and friendship.
For many of us, that time in the dojo is a reset โ a chance to set the rest of life aside and just be present. Parents tell us their kids are calmer at home. Adults say it's their favorite part of the week. And for all of us, the mix of challenge, laughter, and progress keeps us coming back.
If you're looking to try something new or need a break from life, join us. We train Wednesdays at the Moretown Town Hall (right across from the general store) and Tuesdays in Northfield (above the Falls General Store). Your first week is always free, and we'd love to have you join the fun.
