Kindness Counts at BAE
We have begun our Kindness and Inclusion Initiative here at BAE. Students in all classes have been (or will be this coming week) in presentations about being kind, and we are rolling out our new protocol as well. As you can see, we are working hard to promote kindness and fair treatment, and this includes a three tier process. We are not tolerating bullying or racism, and this new protocol will be presented to all students this month in an assembly. Expectations will be made clear, and there are outlined consequences for unkind words/actions.
Outdoor Play is for Every Day!
All students, in all grades, play outside each day. This is a part of the curriculum, and it is important that they come to school ready for the weather. Please make sure that your child has outdoor clothing so that they stay warm and dry each day. You might also consider putting a change of inside clothes in a ziplock baggie in their backpack, so that if they do get wet, they have something to change into to be more comfortable for the remainder of the day.
Attendance is Important
Every day that your child misses school, they risk falling further behind their peers. We do understand that sometimes students have to miss school (illness etc), but extended absences widen the learning gap and make it harder to catch up.
We work with many outside agencies to help students who are struggling with attending school because of things like anxiety etc. If your child has extended absences we are more than willing to help transition them back into the building. Please contact the school so that we can develop a plan to make it easier for all involved.
