"Encourage one another and build each other up ..."
1 Thessalonians 5:11
What a fun week we've had, made extra special with some Student Council planning! It's been amazing to get to know each of your students on a different level. Each week, I learn new things about this class, and I am always very touched by their kind and empathetic nature.
In Reading this week, we focused on realistic fiction, and read a story called One Hen, where we learned about a boy from a small village with big dreams, who was able to work hard to promote big change within his village.
We finished up our Topic 2 in Math this week, all on adding and subtracting decimals! The class seemed very ready in their review, and finished up with the test today. Next week, we will work through some test corrections before we begin multiplication, looking at different strategies to multiply larger numbers.
In Science, we continued our study of chemistry with a supplemental lesson on matter, and how much of matter is too small to be seen! We observed what happens when sugar dissolved in water, and even tasted the water to make sure we knew there was sugar there! We made and revised models, according to what we learned about solids and liquids as we moved through our lesson.
In Religion, we began our unit on sacraments, and are diving into our first sacrament of healing: Reconciliation. We focused on the theme of forgiveness, and read the Parable of the Lost Son, learning how to navigate our Bibles.
