Cougar News

Our annual Fall Festival will be in September this year, and we are so excited! There will be a carnival theme this year. Don't worry...we will still have all of your favorites that you are used to from the Fall Festival. There will be a cake walk, hay ride, lots of games, and of course yummy food! There will be no costume contest this year. Here is what you need to know:

What: Cougar Fall Carnival

When: September 19; 6:00-8:30

Where: Colbert Elementary

Be on the lookout for ways you can help us make this special for our students. We will need donations of baked items for the cake walk as well as door prizes. Be sure and look in your child's Tuesday folder each week as well as checking ClassDojo. We hope to see you there!

Students in second through fifth grade are encouraged to read at least 20 minutes every night. If students finish a book, they can take an Accelerated Reader (AR) quiz on the book to earn points. Students can get to AR through Classlink on their Chromebook. It is called "Renaissance Learning." Students who earn enough points to meet their first quarter goal will participate in a UGA Tailgate Party later in October!

To check your child's progress, go to login.renaissance.com and search to find our school. You can set up a parent account that will notify you when your child takes AR tests. Your child's username is their lunch number, and the password is madison (all lowercase). Your child's lunch number is in your child's Tuesday Folders today on a letter called "Home Connect."

We want all students to earn the UGA Tailgate party! Happy reading!

We hope to see you at our parent breakfasts this year! They all begin at 7:30 AM. If you choose to purchase a breakfast, the cost is $2.25. Students at Colbert Elementary can eat breakfast at no charge.
