Middleton Update
March 6, 2025
Dear Middleton Families,
This Saturday is a BIG day for some of our Middleton students! Good luck to Isla Kent who will be representing our school at the regional spelling bee in Portland. Isla took second place in our school spelling bee and is moving on to the next level this weekend. She will compete against other school winners in grades 3-8 from across the region.
And good luck to our winning OBOB team, "Two Series and a Novel," who will compete at the regional OBOB tournament this Saturday. Good luck Courtney & Cameron Stubblefield, Dominic & Sydney Mills and Olivia Gerber!
Next Thursday is our Kindergarten Open House from 4:00-6:00. If you will have a kindergartener next year, please come! If you have friends or neighbors who will be Middleton kindergarteners next year, please invite them! We'd love to see you there. (Click HERE for more details.)
Sincerely,
Natasha
Middleton Staff Shout Outs
Have you have a great experience with one of our staff members recently? We would love to hear about it! Please click HERE to give a "shout out" to a Middleton staff member. I will share these at our monthly staff meeting, or in our weekly staff emails.
Talent Show
The Talent Show is fast approaching and auditions begin next week. Rehearsals will start the following week. This is a fun event, but we will need your help to make it a memorable and successful event. Please click HERE to see where you could volunteer.
Attention Parents of 3rd-5th Grade Girls
Girls on the Run is back this spring! While the name says "run," this is NOT a track program — it's a fun, uplifting after-school program that inspires girls to be active, set goals, and build confidence. Whether walking, skipping, dancing, or running — all movement is celebrated! Along the way, girls learn essential life skills like friendship, empathy, and teamwork — all while preparing for a celebratory 5K at the end of the season. Don't miss this amazing opportunity to empower your girl!
Program Details:
- Open to 3rd-5th grade girls
- Season runs March 17 – May 31
- Middleton Tu/Fr 2:30-4:00 pm practices
- Culminates in a 5K Celebration where girls move at their own pace

March Character Trait Focus: Ambition
This month's character trait focus is ambition. Ambition is having a strong desire to achieve something important and big, and working hard to make it happen.
To connect learning from school to home, consider asking these questions:
- Why is being ambitious an important trait?
- The opposite of being ambitious might be described as being“lazy” or “uninterested”. What types of things can you do or would you recommend your classmates do if they are feeling the opposite of ambitious while at school? At home?
- If you could be really good at anything, what would it be and why?
- What would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail?
- Share about a time you have to overcome an obstacle - how did you do it?
