March 10, 6:00-7:00 - Friends of Weybridge Elementary (FOWE) Action Meeting.
Pizza and childcare with RSVP by Monday please.
We will recap our recent meeting with Wendy Baker, the Superintendent, discuss talking points, and assign action steps (calling, writing, op-eds, etc.). Jubilee McGill, Addison 5 representative, is invited and says she will try to make it! In our effort to be stronger together, our neighbors in Cornwall may join us as well.
If you are unable to attend FOWE will share talking points and other important info after the fact via email.
March 2-27 - Spring conference window. Watch for a sign-up for these from your child’s teacher. March 20 there is no school to accommodate for most conferences.
Thursday, March 19, 6:00-7:00 - Act 1 informational meeting for K-5 parents. More information to follow. Act 1 is a Vermont law that requires students in each grade to receive education on personal safety and sexual violence prevention. Beginning March 20, Jackson Goscha will be providing this training to the three classrooms.
Families are invited to attend the informational meeting with Jackson and myself March 19. The training is most effective for children when parents have an opportunity to learn and ask questions about the vocabulary and skills the students are learning. Childcare and pizza will be provided. Please RSVP
April 1-17 - Weybridge VTCAP state testing window for grades 3-5. 4th/5th grade window is scheduled for April 1-9; Grade 3 window, April 7-14. We hope to have all assessments completed by April 17. A more detailed schedule will be posted next week. Please avoid making doctor’s appointments during these testing windows as it is complex to reschedule them. Thanks.
Lunch help: We’re only missing a volunteer for Friday next week. Please let me know if you can help out or sign up directly on the March/April lunch calendar. Thanks so much.
