Welcome to September, NPES Families!

Color Days continue this week at NPES. This is a fun way to review colors with our students - they love these days!

We are very excited for our first FULL week with both preschool and kindergarten families! We had a great start to preschool last week and look forward to our Tiniest Trojans settling in even more in the days to come.

We are excited to have wrap up our "Buzzy's Fun Run" fundraiser for 2025-2026 this week. This is our biggest yearly fundraiser. We will use the funds in the following ways:

• field trips (we hope to take a whole school field trip to a wonderful outdoor playground area)
• equipment for clubs
• prizes for PBIS rewards
• prizes for the Tiny Trojan store
• special school-day activities for students.

The funds raised are ONLY used for students (both preschool and kindergarten). We hit our $10,000 goal!!!!!! We are so, SO thankful!!!!!! WE WILL CONTINUE ACCEPTING DONATIONS ALL WEEK.

Our spirit store was extended until tomorrow due to the communication issues we had preventing us from contacting preschool families (thankfully that seems to be fixed now). Place any last minute orders tonight!!

The Dental Clinic takes place this week. Only students with signed permission forms will be screened/cleaned during that clinic. Parents will be contacted if your child needs further treatment.

NPES Families - our Grandparent Ice Cream Socials are coming up in September! This is a special event for grandparents (or adults who function like a grandparent). Please see the link for dates, more info and to register so we can purchase materials. Note that there is an assigned day and time depending on your child's teacher.

**TWO-DAY and THREE-DAY STUDENTS MAY COME TO THE SCHOOL FOR THE EVENT IF YOUR ASSIGNED DAY IS NOT ON YOUR CHILD'S DAY TO ATTEND SCHOOL. It is nearly impossible for us to accommodate the three preschool schedules when we plan events, so we do always try to give families the option to come participate when it is appropriate or we are able to do so. We do not have staffing to do the division a different way on the day(s) of the event and stay in ratio. There may be some things our two-day Tiny Trojans miss throughout the year; please know you can look forward to those special events the next year or in kindergarten!

WE DID IT!!!!!!!!! We are so thankful to have hit our goal; we continue to accept donations until the event Friday. We'd love to raise as much as we did last year in the end ($12,000). Thank you SO MUCH for your generosity and your work to share with family and friends.

We need your help! We don't do many fundraisers at NPES, but we do have a FUN RUN we do each year to raise money for student field trips, materials and activities. It's a HUGE fundraiser for us and helps us make school special for ALL our students. Last year we raised $10,000 and added to our playground! We’re just a few days away from the start of our that fundraiser - North Park Buzzy's Fun Run - where we will have fun and build community while we work to reach our fundraising goal. This is for kindergarten AND preschool families.

Please note that our lunch menu will sometimes differ from what is listed due to availability of items and delivery dates to our school sometimes being different. All students may eat breakfast and lunch for FREE.

WE WILL SEND THE NEW LEAVES FOR SEPTEMBER NEXT WEEK. LET'S KEEP FILLING UP THE TREE!

We have a special painted tree in our cafeteria called our "Reading Tree." We add paper leaves to this tree when students read a book at home with family! We get excited to see how many leaves are added to the tree each month. Additionally, students earn a special sticker (like the kind at the doctor's office) each month. They LOVE collecting these seasonal stickers and adding their leaves to the tree. Paper copies of the leaves will go home tomorrow. You can also print them using the file below.

All students will have access to a free breakfast and a free lunch again this school year. However, each family is still required to complete a Household Income Form to maintain accurate data as a requirement for state and federal funding. If this information is not collected accurately, Family Resource Centers, Youth Service Centers and instructional resources are in jeopardy of losing essential funding.

Please fill out even if your family does not qualify. It does not take long at all.

The form is available by CLICKING HERE. Free lunches are provided through a program called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). Its continuation is dependent on the number of school meals served. HCS encourages all students to participate in school lunch and school breakfast as much as possible!
