DEAR FARMINGTON VIEW FAMILIES

12/11/23

Dear Farmington View Families,

This week, our school will conduct a fire drill. We cannot share the exact date and time of the drill. The purpose of a fire drill is to practice the response to a fire inside our school. Staff will prepare students for the drill and support individual students as needed. We expect students to follow their teacher’s instructions and walk quietly out of the school to the assembly area. The drill will end with an “All Clear” announcement. Staff will escort students back into the school at the end of the drill. Learn more about safety drills and the Standard Response Protocol on our website. If you have questions, please contact me at Natasha Echeverria, 503-844-1737.

Thank you,

Mrs. Echeverria

Principal

Atentamente,

Natasha Echeverria

Directora

Volunteer Support for our Math Program Volunteer Support for our Math Program

Families,

We are looking for 2-3 families to sign up for our Bottle and Can drive that supports our math program here at Farmington View Elementary. This is a fundraiser that brings in money that supports having an additional math teacher at our school. With the additional math teacher we are able to have small math classes (less than 20 per class), differentiated instruction to meet students' math needs, and a math leader that can provide tools and support for all our students.

In order to keep this fundraiser going we need families that can volunteer their time the first Saturday of each month from 10:00-12:00 here at the school helping sort bottles and cans that get dropped off during these hours.

Please consider supporting our math program by signing up to volunteer on a Saturday.

Click the button below to add your name to our sign up form.

Attendance Matters Attendance Matters

Regular, on-time attendance is essential to students’ education. Too many absences - excused or unexcused - can keep students from succeeding in school and in life. Did you know that missing just two days of school per month means a student loses 10% of their instruction for the school year? Learn more about the importance of attendance, download an attendance tracker, and see support strategies on our website. Of course, attendance does not take priority over your health! If you are too sick for school, please stay home and access your work remotely until you are feeling better.
Absences add up - 9 or less is best!

What are we focused on at Farmington View? What are we focused on at Farmington View?

At Farmington View Elementary School, we know, value, and empower every student. With that, our school is focusing on phonics, and phonics in Spanish for our K-1 Spanish speaking students. Additionally, in math we are focusing on high leverage strategies and number sense during our math blocks. As a STEAM school our focus is on providing our students access to integrated STEAM lessons on a regular basis through our innovation workshop. In order to support an environment where students feel valued and empowered our school is integrating social emotional learning by providing students access to lessons daily. These steps will ensure all our students are successful through their K-12 school years and have the opportunities to achieve their dreams!
