PreK Popsicle Party Success!

Our PreK Popsicle Party, sponsored by the WECC Parent Council, was a wonderful success! We were thrilled to see so many children and families come out to enjoy a sweet treat, connect with one another, and celebrate the start of a new school year. Thank you to our Parent Council for sponsoring this fun community-building event and to all of the families and staff who joined us!

Supporting Your Child’s Transition

As your child prepares to start school this fall, here are a few simple things you can do to support a smooth transition:

• Visit the School: Drive by or walk through the school parking lot to help your child become familiar with the building.

• Explore Together: Take a walk around the school grounds. This helps build comfort with the new environment.

• Talk About It: Share in your child’s excitement about meeting new friends and teachers. Let them know it’s okay to feel a mix of emotions and that you’re there to support them every step of the way.

Important Dates: As part of the 2026–2027 PreK school year, all families are required to attend the following:

Parent Orientation Meeting - Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at 6:30 p.m.: Parents will hear about expectations, procedures, and protocols for returning to school, complete required emergency contact paperwork, meet your child’s teacher and have the opportunity to see our classrooms and ask questions. This evening is for parents only. We ask families to log into ASPEN and update your contacts between August 26th and September 1st.

Student Orientation - Thursday, September 3, 2026 (see your child's letter for the orientation time): This is a special time for you and your preschooler to see the classroom, meet the teacher, listen to a story and do a fun activity. We ask that you do not bring siblings to this event as this is a special time for you and your preschooler.

Positive Solutions for Families - Wednesday, September 30 at 6:30 p.m. OR October 7 at 6:30 p.m (select one night to attend) :

This required night is for parents/caregivers only. Positive behavior strategies used at school can be successfully carried over at home. We will discuss ways to help children recognize and manage their emotions, develop coping skills, and reduce challenging behaviors through consistent routines, clear expectations, and supportive strategies.

• The second tuition payment is due September 1st.

• Tuition is an annual fee, with the option for families to divide the total into 10 monthly payments. The final tuition payment will be due on May 1, 2027.

• Families may submit tuition payments in the lock box located at the front entrance of WECC.

• When submitting a check or money order, please make sure the envelope or check is clearly labeled with your child’s name. Please do not place cash in the lock box.

• If you need to pay with cash, please visit the front office between 8:35 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Thank you for your attention to these payment procedures.

Change of Address:

It is important that we have your correct contact information! Please email Mrs. Clancy within 5 days of a change of address or change of telephone number. This information is important for communication. Kristen.clancy@weymouthps.org

• All students should be walked to Door #7, the front entrance of WECC. For the safety of all students, we ask families to remain at the bottom of the stairs. A staff member will greet your child and escort them safely into the building.

  Once inside, students will have a designated spot in the front hallway where they will line up with their class before beginning their school day. We appreciate your help in making the first-day arrival process safe, smooth, and welcoming for everyone!

• Designated staff will be at pick-up points at dismissal time, so you’ll always know where to meet your child.
