WEEK 15
Week 15 (November 18 - 22)
A Note from the Principal's Desk
Greetings Hawthorne ES Parents/Guardians,
We have one week before break! This is the last newsletter until Dec. 1st.
We’re so proud of our soccer players and deeply grateful to everyone who came out to cheer them on this past Saturday. The Soccer Team will compete in the District Finals on December 7th at Godfrey Stadium. (2817 Clifton Springs Rd, Decatur, GA 30034)
We’re thrilled to invite you and your family to our upcoming Literacy Night on Wednesday, November 20th, from 5:30 - 7:00 pm! This special event is designed to strengthen our students’ foundational skills and create lasting connections between learning at school and home.
Here’s what you can look forward to:
• Make-and-Take Activities: Learn strategies and tools that you can use to support your child’s reading skills at home.
• Special Guest Author: Our guest will inspire students and families alike, sharing the magic of storytelling and the joy of reading.
• Family Reading Time: Head over to the gym for family reading time where you can enjoy book/books together.
• Books for Every Student: Each child will go home with a book (or books!) to encourage their reading journey and foster a love for learning.
We’re excited to partner with you in supporting our school-wide focus on literacy. Let’s make this an evening filled with learning, fun, and community! We can’t wait to see you there.
We’re excited to see everyone at our Family Ties Lunch! Families who returned their RSVP confirmation will receive seating preference.
I've included the DCSD Student Assignment Project (SAP) link below for your input!
During carpool, please adhere to the directives of our school personnel on AM & PM duty to ensure safety of staff and students.
As we step into the 15th week of school, gratitude is extended to our parents that continue to support our school. We’re eagerly looking forward to events this week designed to engage both our families and students.
