Lost and Found
Please remind your child to check out our lost and found. We have quite the collection of water bottles and clothing. All items will be donated at the end of each marking period.
Week of Respect Wrap Up
We had a full schedule of activities for Week of Respect. From our author visit, to No Place For Hate peer messaging, to an HIB assembly, chalking for kindness, spirit days and the list goes on.
Dana Kramaroff did a wonderful job for our Week of Respect assembly. She connected with our 6th students in relevant and vulnerable ways regarding her own experiences and then led sessions for our peer leaders to turnkey that will help to shape our school culture far into the future.
You can read more about the Do More Club book here as well as find a google form to purchase a copy of the book HERE.

National Custodian Day
National Custodian Day on Friday 10/2 gave us the perfect opportunity to pause and reflect on the incredible team that keeps our school running safely, smoothly, and beautifully every single day. Long before the morning bell rings, our custodial team is already on site unlocking doors, setting up classrooms, and preparing our building for learning. Throughout the school day, they handle everything from sudden mid-day emergencies to routine maintenance, and long after the last bus leaves in the evening, they are still hard at work securing and cleaning our spaces. Simply put, our school could not function without their dedication.
Last Friday, we wanted to ensure our custodial team felt the appreciation of our entire school community. We celebrated by encouraging your children to share a personal "thank you" when they passed our custodians in the hallways. To make their Friday a little lighter, we asked all students and staff to do a quick, extra-thorough cleanup of their desks and classrooms before the final bell.
Along with a few special surprises we have planned for them throughout the day, these small gestures went a long way toward showing our team just how much they mean to us. Thank you to everyone for helping us recognize their hard work and commitment to our school.
Below Ms. Micheal's class spread some kindness and respect to our custodians by writing individual notes.
Food Drive
MMS is once again partnering with the Community FoodBank of New Jersey to participate in the Students Change Hunger Challenge. We’ll be collecting food donations through December 23rd, and we’d love to make this year’s drive our most successful one yet!
As you know, more people than ever are facing severe food insecurity. Every can, box, and bag we collect can make a meaningful difference for a family in our community. Even a small donation can have a big impact!
And yes…the Lunch Line Fast Pass is back! Students who bring in food donations will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win the ever-coveted Fast Pass to the front of the lunch line! We’ll be drawing multiple winners throughout the drive, so the more we collect, the more chances students have to win!
Thank you for helping our MMS community come together to fight hunger. Let’s fill those boxes and show just how much MMS can do when we work together! Let's surpass last year's goal of 2000 pounds of food donations!
The Food Drive is graciously coordinated by the dedicated Core 8 Peer Leaders of MMS.

New Student Opportunity: Middle School Science Bowl Club
Does your student love biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy, or math? We are launching a new Science Bowl club to prepare students for the National Science Bowl (NSB), a nationwide, buzzer-style academic competition sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy.
Official team selection is competitive. The parent led group operating under the PTO umbrella will hold an internal Pre-Qualifier Exam this November to select official competitors and alternates for the New Jersey Regional Middle School Science Bowl early next year. Winning regional teams earn an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C., for the National Finals.
* Eligibility: Open to students enrolled at MMS for the current school year in grades 6, 7, or 8, and be born between September 1, 2011, and April 29, 2017, inclusive
* Logistics Note: Families are responsible for any transportation, lodging, and incidental costs associated with team participation and events.
- If your student is interested in testing their knowledge, building teamwork skills, and competing, please submit the interest form below by Friday, October 16th.
