A Message From Mrs. Lamb
Welcome back to another exciting year at Settles Bridge Elementary! Teachers return on Wednesday for classroom preparations and professional learning. I hope your summer provided quality family time, relaxation, and maybe an adventure or two. As we begin this new academic year, I want to extend a warm welcome to our returning students and a special greeting to all our new students and families.
This newsletter has everything you need to get started for the 24-25 school year. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.
1st Volunteer opportunity for 24-25:
We have ordered a few new tables and chairs for our professional learning lounge and items for a game room to be used for Startime as well as students/classes to earn as a reward. If you are handy and would like to put together tables, chairs, a basketball goal, etc. Please email me (alamb@forsyth.k12.ga.us) with a time convenient to volunteer. Ideally you would come as a pair to help one another assemble. This could be during the week or we are opening the building for the next two Saturdays for staff to work in classrooms.
Teacher Calls
If the teacher can't reach you, an email will be sent by 5:00 p.m.

Find your class, meet with PTO, partners in education, and more!
Bus Registration and Tag Verification
You must register your child for the bus EACH year and select the color tag you want them to have so they disembark correctly.
Transportation uses a tagging system to allow students off the bus safely. Each year, these tags are reset to red, denoting a parent will be present to meet the student at the bus. Depending on the age of the student, parents can opt to allow students to walk home unaccompanied. Please use this link to verify your child for the bus and choose the correct color of tag. If you have any questions, please reach out to transportation directly.
Additionally, you will need to show the driver your child's bus pass upon meeting them at the bus. This can be found in Infinite Campus. Directions to locate this tag are below. Please ensure every adult who will meet your child at the bus has this tag printed or saved to their camera roll. As the year progresses, we may have substitute bus drivers and this is the only way to ensure the safety of our students.

Important Information for the First Day of School
Students Getting to Class:
We will have many adults throughout the building to help students find their classrooms the first 7 days of the school year. Additionally, staff members are on duty in the mornings throughout the year, should a student need assistance. Please take any back to school photos at Open House as we are unable to accommodate visitors on on the first day.
Transportation:
Buses may be a few minutes delayed in the morning, but your child will not be counted as tardy.
For car riders, tardies will begin Monday, August 5th. If you pull in the parking lot between 7:38-7:39, you should prepare to park in a parking spot (not along the curb) and walk your child into the building and sign them in via the computer at our checkmate stand. Your child will receive a tardy slip from a staff member and head to class while you check them in.
